My parents signed up for Verizon and turned down the texting options. Then Verizon sent them a text message telling them that texting is cool, and then charged them $30 for a data plan because they were receiving texts (from them).
If social interaction was the point of an MMO, then Wow would have gone under by now. It has the worst community I've seen in an MMO. Some punk kid called my wife a retard because she didn't use the talent spec that "all hunters should use..... period". Most of the pick up groups I've been in had flaky people that would leave at random times.
Your right. The correct phrase is "I do not recall at this time". It doesn't state that you forgot, just that at this time you are not recalling it, and thus prevents the perjury charge. See, we did learn something from Hillary Clinton
Sadly, I have to agree.
1st amendment:
The "Fairness Doctrine" is being brought up again and if Obama wins it will be passed. This is a measure to destroy talk radio because it criticizes democrats (we MUST protect politicians from criticism!)
Churches are being threatened that they will loose their tax exempt status if they mention the election (we MUST protect politicians from criticism!!)
McCain-Feingold - places restrictions on speech 60 days before an election (we MUST protect politicians from criticism!!!)
2nd amendment:
Don't even get me started on the limitations the government has placed on this right!
5th amendment:
We can't be tried twice for the same crime.... but you actually can - once for murder, then for denying someone else their civil rights.
Eminent Domain abuse is rampant with cities taking property and selling it to others because the new owners would be paying more in property tax, and thus providing for the public good (and the supreme court had no problem with this even though the 5th amendment uses the phrase 'public use' not 'public good'!!)
8th amendment:
Putting someone in a cell with a sociopath that will rape him repeatedly is my definition of cruel and unusual punishment. Our prisoners have the right to serve their sentence in safety (though not with cable tv or steaks).
10th amendment:
The federal government doesn't recognize any limitations to its powers, thus nullifying this
If he gets off lightly, it sets a dangerous president. You'll likely see even more crime committed for the purposes of digging up dirt on politicians. Imagine if someone planted cameras in politicians homes or tapped their phones for getting anything humiliating about them. If that seems far fetched, anti-McCainite broke into a McCain headquarters to steal a laptop with campain strategies. http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics/story/823580.html . Is this really how we want politics to be? As it is, you'd have to be extremely masochistic to run for office.
You just proved the parent post in 2 ways-
1. Calling him an idiot instead of just disagreeing with him demonstrates that common courtesy is dead, and
2. If you get in an accident with someone and you caused it your best response to their justifiable anger is to tell them to go pound sand.
Of course the Fed government has the authority over education. They do it by heavy taxes that are returned to the state if that state does exactly what the federal government tells them to do.
It's kind of like if G.W. enacted a tax of 1 billion dollars for each and every citizen of the US, with a 1 billion dollar rebate if you give up all your rights. You can just pay the 1 billion, right?
Most people don't understand that the president doesn't write the laws. In fact, most people think that the president is a 4 year king, and is thus responsible for all that happens.
It's not that we wiped out the indians, but that we were emancipating the native wildlife who proceeded them and were being oppressed by them. It wasn't the europeans who discovered America, or the indians- it was the deer. Deer rights!
There are still people to hire. You just have to hire them away from someone else by offering better compensation. So, everyone gets raises. Which causes inflation..... hmmmm, sounds like Morealin is right. I hadn't thought of that.
I've had the opposite experience. On my wife's computer you can only choose one of a few planets. If you choose the others the game crashes to the desktop. On my mac it works alright. Honestly, I was going to buy a second copy for myself, but now that we have to install the cracked version on my wife's computer anyways...... no money for them!
My wife got us into the 3 day Warhammer beta last weekend and since then I've found that playing wow just annoys the heck out of me. Here are the reasons why:
1. Quests that require that you run for long periods of time. Who thought this was a good idea?! I've never liked this, but now I've lost all tolerance for it
2. There's an overall lack of theme or purpose. My first quest is to kill sprites, then boars, then harpies, then turtles, then orcs.... wait, I'm playing an orc. It seems like your people are fighting everyone and nobody. I want a common theme for why I'm doing what I'm doing.
3. I was ganked this morning by a 70 mage. Really honorable killing a level 30 who was fighting at the time. I don't know why I was never ganked in warhammer, but I wasn't. But every time I died I felt like I was killed honorably.
4. Noone cares about the world pvp in wow (I know I don't) and the BGs are about who has the highest tier gear. Not at all fun anymore.
I'm not claiming that warhammer is going to kill wow- I don't think it will. Nor am I claiming that warhammer is even better (it could use additional features). But, I can say that I just can't play wow any more- just like I can't stand to play pacman anymore.
Maybe the Inquirer got confused again. Via is going to make an x86 processor. Well, they have and will continue to do so, so no news here except that the Inquirer knows nothing yet reports a lot.
Just sell the source code for $100 a pop, and license the artwork to amatuer programmers by having them pay you $5-10 per copy sold that uses that code or art from the game. At least you'll recoup some of your losses.
It's like the proposition that is put on the ballot, voted down, and put back next election. We had a horrible bond that was voted down 12 times, then passed during an election that had a really small turn-out. Now that the money is spent, we can't repeal it.

Then your John Galt. God bless ya.

I love Apple - whenever someone asks me to be their tech I just tell them to go to the Apple genius bar. I'm free!!!!!

Your description of Palins qualifications are almost identical to that of Bill Clintons.

The 6200M GS wasn't one of these bad chips. The bad chips were 8x00M's and some 9x00M's.
Strange. They pump CO2 into the ground and they're heros. I throw a plastic bottle away and I'm a villian. Same result-> Carbon in the ground.
In other news, Barack Obama has officially changed his name to "I Can", making it easier for his constituents to vote for him

It's not that it's a better value, it's a better product
Can you resolder a chip back onto a pcb? How many pins does a GPU have? 1000? 10k? You better be a damn good solderer.
Yea, but if you continue to use that card then in just a mere 15 more years it's going to fail! OMG, recall!!!!

Yea, they announced it a little while ago. They shouted it from the rooftops, but I guess not enought people heard: http://www.nvidia.com/page/handheld.html
