I'm sorry, but IMHO this is just another "case study" to promote a young companies product. This is a story about a man that had a vision to become his own boss as a contractor. He also loved dogs, as if any american can really hate them. This may be a great tool to pretend you are a "race-car driver" for "two-and-a-half days", but if you're going to work for yourself, you're going to work for yourself.
This was simply a study that helped one man decide to cut loose and be his own boss, but kudo's to the spin....
I used to play WoW on windows XP... i was getting pissed off becuase i was getting disconnects every 8-10 hours or so, and only about 35 FPS... Then i installed windows 2000 (haha, no activation) i suddenly only disconnect when i tell Wow to, and holy moly, i'm getting another 10fps, just because i canned Xp......
Now, is this the fault of eye-candy, i htink not. i think it's the other extras that get added to Windows, especially by the time you get to sp2, you have so much crap running just for the GpOS!... well, that's my rant... Go install win2k, you'll love it
Sadly I think Google stands to lose the most.. i mean, all the great internet applications in the last year have come from google labs (picasa, world, g-mail.... must i go on?)
Hey, you could alway drop that into a suggestion box with microsoft, i'm sure the'll promise to have it in Vista, then say it's not going to be there, then delay the release stating it is going to be there, only to release "Longhorn" with no advanced graphics UI, and no Labeling of folders...... -nick
