I have little to fear , in fact here I am.

As a former Guided Missile Radar Tech for the US Navy I have lived with fear before, bring it on.
The US and it's ppl will not cower in fear from your threats, well maybe the liberals will, but that is their choice.
Indeed, God Bless the US, whatever god you follow, and whatever faith you follow.
I am sorry, I have been inadequate in my ability to insult you.

"Liberal?"
Hint: Insults were not my msg, you are not my conern, what is happening in the world by and large has very little to do with your or my opinion.
I have had enough of this thread, I have "something" I would much rather be doing.
We can argue this til we are both blue in the face, it is not going to change anything.
Unfortunately he uses fear to control those beneath him, and will kill a man's entire family if they do not show unswerving loyalty to the regime.
I wish we could simply kill him and be done, and to be honest that first round of attacks with cruise missiles tried just that.
They tried to kill him and his top ppl after receiving information from inside Iraq from operatives that thought they knew where he would be in a certain time window , but it did not work.
The operatives were Delta Force and CIA.
They had tapped the phone system, and were monitoring high level calls.
The lull that briefly ensued was to see if they had got him, but after some research and discussion they decided they had missed him and resorted to the only way they know how at this time.
However if you know an easy way to be rid of Saddam, and his regime, then by all means
There are ppl in droves helping to pull down the statues, and photos of Saddam, and after the Gulf War they beat his ass back in 19 out of 22 provinces.
If we would have helped , Saddam would have been out in 1992.
Read the history of Iraq you liberal lapdog.
I have friends that were THERE, you have hollywood dipshits running their mouths because they wanted Gore for prez.
The H1-b visa quota has not been rescinded, more foreign labor to be imported for less $$.

I feel lucky I have ratholed away ALOT of money, and am living ultra-cheap right now.
I quit my job due to lopsided responsibilities and pay, and was only able to do it because I have been thru this cycle of crapping on ppl while the economy is bad before.
I am taking the time to study and get some more certifications.
They can find someone else to be super tech, while the other ppl are getting promoted.
Find the better unhappy ppl in your company that are fiscally responsible people and quit and start your own venture.
Something that takes advantage of the downturn or has to do with emerging technologies that look like they will do well.
Ex.: Wireless , Hydrogen fuel cell's , etc etc.
As a web page churner, you may be limited by your skillset . This area is kinda saturated right now as you yourself have pointed out.
In any event, good luck, and try the idea as a part time endeavor and do case studies on how well other ppl are doing in the sector you may be considering.
Companies in times of a labor glut really do not care much for their employees unless the market starts to climb back up and they fear being left high and dry.
Although one minor engineering detail is left out, the CHEAP CRAP concrete made quickly with VERY FAST setup time is not as good as concrete that is allowed to cure slowly over a MUCH longer time and has expensive clinker added to it.
Concrete made to last , lasts , as seen in the Aqueducts and the huge multi-ton blocks lifted out of the harbor in Alexandria Egypt that are now believed to be parts of the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria that fell into the sea.
With the sea working on it, it survived the fall and the centuries, quite impressive for not being steel re-inforced.
Quality will stand the test of time.
Greed and the bottom line gets you the, DOT BOMB BUST....
Farscape is watched by ppl outside the US as well, especially seeing how it is made in Australia.
It's following is bigger than one might expect as it is multi-continent.
If it has 1 million viewers, ie. it would be less than.5% of just the US population.
Apathy is very powerful though, so it depends if ppl really give a damn and are willing to donate a cpl of bucks a year , and or if Farscape will put up a support site with banner advertising and sell memorabilia and gadgets and what-not's.
If they get some ancillary monetary support structure setup they could MORE than cover the cost of the show.

A big suprise may be coming if they pull this off, and I cannot wait to see it if it works.
Benchmarks for 1st pass BIOS's are "always" lower until they are tweaked and optimised.
For that matter the OS's often have to be tweaked to take full advantage of them.
In time the Clawhammer, and Sledgehammer will show their true abilities.
Amen to that, look at the horrendous things ppl have done to each other over the centuries.
My god the number of ppl that have died are staggering , and women and children too.
I do not agree with the current liberal bias, and believe we need to oust Saddam.
I do not like war, but it will only be worse if we wait, and could very well be World War 3.
In fact, I'd say we already waited too long.
Desert Storm was the right time.
Even here in the US the cavalry would kill the american indian children and women.
It has been just as bad in every country around the world, except for maybe the true Tibetans, they seemed quite peaceful til the chinese ran roughshot over them.
I served in the US Navy working on missile guidance radar systems .
I'd call me a confused christian .
I believe Saddam is evil, and there is 20+ yrs of history to prove it .
I do not like war, but if we shirk this,
it is only going to get worse, and be much
harder to deal with in the future .
As for Wahhabism, I learned of it online, and doing ALOT of research .
Alot of Muslims did speak out to this information, it did not get alot of air time .
If you talk to peaceful but leary muslims that are from the middle east they will explain it to you better than I can here.
Here is but a precursor to all the info on wahhabism, I even spelled it wrong (grin)
I wanted to understand this secular view of Islam , and as there are MANY versions
of the christian faith .
Wahhabism gains alot of its popularity thru taking the disenfranchised and giving them a focal point for their unhappiness .
That focal point is the US at this time .
Alot of religions use their members as a means to an end, and to achieve alterior motives.
I feel that is partly what is going on now.
There are alot of angry ppl out there looking for someone to blame for their life being unhappy and unfair .
Little do they know that alot of americans live in trailers, and are considered poor white
trash.
My family was this for quite some time.
Only education at a university got my mother
free of it, and only going into the military
and learning electronics and then computers
on my own got me free of it .
Our media portrays us very differently than
what alot of us are really like.
There are alot of good ppl here, and alot of
bad ppl here, but to be honest that can be
said of any country .
Unfortunately the only ppl that modded
you were either Muslims or Liberals.
The liberals are sure that peace will
eventually win out over war.
Be nice, but with a religion based on hate
it is not very realistic.
The crusades, the inquisition, and some other
indescretions by the christians left them
little better than the muslims in the past.
It is like U2 lyrics..."What more in the name of Love"
The middle east is a powder keg, we need to
go take care of this, but unless we do it
surgically we may set off the whole damn region.
The Turks are just waiting for an excuse to
massacre every Kurd separatist in existence.
Syria wants to attack Israel so bad it is
practically foaming at the mouth.
I think Israel's nukes is all the keeps them
at bay really .
Jordan to some extent seems to try to be joining
the 21st century, may allah bless them .
Saudia Arabia, hehe, well...Let's just say that is where MOST of the captured Al-qaeda came from , and Whabism is HUGE there.
Whahism is the strict, inflexible interpretation
of islam, and also has a side order of hate . It is larger to blame for what we have experienced .
2 major sects of islam splintered when
Mohammed died, this was one of them, but
believe it or not it is the one thought
Mohammed would least likely support . Go figure ???
Like I said earlier, the christians have
their past track record of Crusades and
Inquisitions, it just took the Muslims
longer to build up to this and thus they
have arrived at the same ugly place.
Indeed, what more in the name of Love.....
Ignoring this situation is only going to make
it worse to deal with down the road .
If you as a liberal feel the jews in israel
should be left to be annihilated come right
out and say, you believe in free speech right, free thy tongue !!!
If you as a Muslim believe in this great jihad,
then you think you cannot lose, speak loudly
and recruit more to your cause.
It will make it easier to identify the idiots.
In the midwest we are buying ammo, and stocking
water and food .
There are 30,000 middle eastern men with
expired Visas in the US from all the scab
labor visa programs from the DOT BOMB
blow out .
The state department and INS is offering
zero effort to deport these ppl . In
california they were so lazy they asked them
to come to the police station and report
themselves , and were then summarily arrested.
How pathetic .
Those that show up dutifully are punished,
those that don't are not even sought out .
The ones that are most likely your REAL issue .
If the government does not pull hard on its
neck til it hears a loud pop, we are all gonna
die from ass-phyxiation .
Well enough of my rant, it will matter not
with what is about to happen in the world,
I wish peace to all, but oh so rarely do we
ever get it .
It is open source, and it free except for the learning curve, and the cost of migration.
Migration even in the M$ world can be painful with their own damn OS, I have done of a few of those as well.
1. Cost up front , TCO is variable.
(if you KNOW linux well you can get low TCO)
(If you do not know linux well, you won't) 2. more flexible (less lawyers) 3. open source (you get the community)
Sun has 5 and 6 - 9's reliablility machines for telecom networks that cost as much a porsche a piece.
If you want to compare $1,500 x86 boxes to these high end high reliability hardware/ software systems.
Linux is gonna lose.
But dollar for dollar, the linux system is going to win . There is PC hardware out there that is more reliable than most , but does not carry a HUGE mark up for it.
www.google.com runs on x86 hardware and linux, and www.mosix.com does as well now.
There are ALOT of squid boxes out there now, and no telling how many Linux/BSD firewalls and routers.
Linux is building a pretty strong case here.
The city of houston chose linux over Sun, so did Oracle just recently, hardware too, they went with Dell.
Sun's day in the sun may be at an end.
The bottom dollar may get them laid off just like it has many of my friends.
It seems to work well, granted this is
2 different scenarios, but it proves it
can and will be done .
If ppl spent more time figuring out how
to do things, rather than taken the default
path of devil's advocate the US would not
be in the shape it is in now .
It is soooo much easier to say it is all
crap, and type in CAPs and puff up like a
toad . Loud does not equal right .
I am not even saying I am right, but give
it some equal consideration .
Corporate loyalty to corporate royalty
is like a horse with blinders following
the buggy whip commands off the edge of
a cliff .
Fact is x86 hardware is unreliable, but then
again Sun equipment breaks too, unless you
buy their Ultra high end, money is no object,
systems .
Google even talks of this on their site.
They just pop another box in and send in the
broken one for diagnostics and batch reload
via imaging, It's all automated.
On a 1 for 1 basis the Sun boxes are better
if you are willing to pay MUCH more for each
one of them.
Try telling the ppl at http://www.mosix.com
that linux is just not good enough.
They have been doing this for 20 years,
most recently on x86 hardware.
The collective compiling of all those linux
boxes will amaze you.
This is the new frontier in silicon, and
in code, give it a chance before you
condemn it becasue you are old school
sun and own thousands of shares of tanked
stock .
A total switch out is usually very painful, and ppl will fight it like crazy.
Alot of it is not baseless either.
Verify all aspects of software will work under Linux, and setup some kind of training for the ppl similar to a Intranet or just a video cd . This training can be a project unto itself.
Make it a progressive gradual switch out, perhaps with volunteers at first , or ppl you are comfortable with making the switch.
Make the needy, emotional, nuerotic freaks the last ones to get switched.
Case I just bought was $150, but it is a SOHO server with lockable front and side panel with a 430 watt power supply.
Good cases and power supplies are worth it when you have expensive hardware you are powering and housing.
Cases with no filters lead to dirty parts inside, that is why most Sun hardware has filters on them.
As for $2,000 for these machines, I agree, that is WAY over priced if you shop around on http://www.pricewatch.com
Money saved build an extra server or 2, several extra desktop boxes for rapid replace, and house all the data on the servers with a RAID5 array with hot swappable drive trays with HOT standby spares.
Cool thing is you can do this with IDE drives now and save a small fortune.
IDE's tend to not last as long according to factory testing, so keep a few spares handy and you should be fine.
Well Ia m re-writing what I have already posted, my apologies.

Use it as a Methane Fuel cell so we do not .

.
have to burn it and release the hydrocarbons
Be a great way to power a large portion of
the planet, the sewer systems just leak the
gas now or burn it off in open flames
Be a big project, but it could be well worth it

Linux is cheaper, and is more flexible
It is open source, and it free except for
the learning curve, and the cost of migration
Migration even in the M$ world can be painful
with their own damn OS, I have done of a few
of those as well
1. Cost up front , TCO is variable
(if you KNOW linux well you can get low TCO)
(If you do not know linux well, you won't)
2. more flexible (less lawyers)
3. open source (you get the community)
Sun has 5 and 6 - 9's reliablility machines
for telecom networks that cost as much a
porsche a piece
If you want to compare $1,500 x86 boxes to
these high end high reliability hardware/
software systems
Linux is gonna lose
But dollar for dollar, the linux system is
going to win . There is PC hardware out
there that is more reliable than most , but
does not carry a HUGE mark up for it
www.google.com runs on x86 hardware and linux,
and www.mosix.com does as well now
There are ALOT of squid boxes out there now,
and no telling how many Linux/BSD firewalls
and routers
Linux is building a pretty strong case here
The city of houston chose linux over Sun,
so did Oracle just recently, hardware too,
they went with Dell
Sun's day in the sun may be at an end
The bottom dollar may get them laid off
just like it has many of my friends
I wish them the best of luck

Google is not running on Sun boxes .
.
.
.
.
.
It is running on x86 hardware .
http://www.intel.com/eBusiness/casestudies/
snapshots/google.htm
It seems to work well, granted this is 2 different scenarios, but it proves it can and will be done .
If ppl spent more time figuring out how to do things, rather than taken the default path of devil's advocate
the US would not be in the shape it is in now .
It is soooo much easier to say it is all crap, and type in CAPs and puff up like a toad .
Loud does not equal right .
I am not even saying I am right, but give it some equal consideration .
Corporate loyalty to corporate royalty is like a horse with blinders following the buggy whip commands off the edge of a cliff .
Fact is x86 hardware is unreliable, but then again Sun equipment breaks too, unless you buy their Ultra high end, money is no object, systems .
Google even talks of this on their site.
They just pop another box in and send in the broken one for diagnostics and batch reload via imaging, It's all automated
On a 1 for 1 basis the Sun boxes are better if you are willing to pay MUCH more for each one of them
Try telling the ppl at http://www.mosix.com that linux is just not good enough
They have been doing this for 20 years, most recently on x86 hardware
The collective compiling of all those linux boxes will amaze you
This is the new frontier in silicon, and in code, give it a chance before you condemn it
becasue you are old school sun and own thousands of shares of tanked stock .

Yeah, this is true.

A total switch out is usually very painful,
and ppl will fight it like crazy
Alot of it is not baseless either
Verify all aspects of software will work
under Linux, and setup some kind of training
for the ppl similar to a Intranet or
just a video cd . This training can be a
project unto itself
Make it a progressive gradual switch out,
perhaps with volunteers at first , or ppl
you are comfortable with making the switch
Make the needy, emotional, nuerotic freaks
the last ones to get switched
Good Luck,

SOHO server with lockable front and side
panel with a 430 watt power supply
Good cases and power supplies are worth it
when you have expensive hardware you are
powering and housing
Cases with no filters lead to dirty parts
inside, that is why most Sun hardware has
filters on them
As for $2,000 for these machines, I agree,
that is WAY over priced if you shop around
on http://www.pricewatch.com
Money saved build an extra server or 2,
several extra desktop boxes for rapid
replace, and house all the data on the
servers with a RAID5 array with hot
swappable drive trays with HOT standby
spares
Cool thing is you can do this with IDE
drives now and save a small fortune
IDE's tend to not last as long according
to factory testing, so keep a few spares
handy and you should be fine
Well Ia m re-writing what I have already
posted, my apologies
Peace...
