A free press means the reporter can report the news as it happens in a truthful matter.
No, a free press means that the press is free from governmental interference. The press still decides what to print - what do you think editors do, anyway?
"And how can you equate bias in mass media with a lack of free press?"
Because their bias prevents them from reporting the truth.
You seem to be confusing Truth with the freedom to say any old thing you like without being arrested. Freedom of the press only applies to those who have one and they can print what they like.
"If you don't like it, print your own newsletter."
Yes that will show them!. Take that Disney! take that Rupert Murdoch!. Damn you billionaires I will bring you down with my e-zine!.
What, now you're whining because you don't have a publishing empire to back you up? I don't see any laws guaranteeing yoyu an audience.
Notice that I said framerate and not average framerate. It's not a difference between theory and practice, it's a matter of average versus instantaneous.
My theory is that people might be able to tell the difference between 80 and 100 Hz (say) when they move around a lot and tearing int the image is occuring.
Sorry, but double buffering eliminates tearing completely. The buffers are switched in the vertical blanking interval.
Some people may not notice beyond 60 FPS. Some people do, and 100 feels better for them. More real. Of course, you mostly notice under FPS because they happen at very high speed and everything moves when you make a turn.
Show me someone who can feel a difference past 85fps, and I'll show you someone who thinks analog sounds better than digital. (hint: what's your monitor refresh?)
The bus is very one-sided. It gives 2.1GB/s to the card, but nothing particularly special on the way back. After all, the intent was to allow the cpu to stream from main memory.

I did a similar thing with 2 computers and msvcmon. It only works for visual studio, but if that's what you want, then you can basically debug 3d games without worrying about focus issues or trying to catch transient visual problems. If you use something else, there may well be a similar tool that does the same thing.
I would love to see a network of fast, clean maglev trains. But it has to be after technology makes it economically feasible rather than because some politician had a dream and decided to spend a shitload of tax dollars. Better to spend a reasonable amount on research instead.
You need to spend the shitload of dollars to get the technology to a deployable state. If we just sat around waiting for stuff to become feasible, we'd never get anywhere.

No, the author has no right to stop me from reading something that he's published; all he can do is dictate who may distribute copies. Before anybody asks, the copying required to view the page doesn't count, as it is required to use the page normally
We've got a good 15-50 years of "supernationalism" until some agreed-upon mechanism for punnishing extra-national criminals is agreed upon.
And how long until that agreed-upon mechanism that's been agreed upon is backed with enough teeth to make a whit of difference? Until we have a one world government (which is probably a really bad idea), we will have to deal with these situations.
Just how many DVDs have *you* ever seen that use PCM instead of AC3?
All of them. Of course, they usually have both.

What upsets us about RedWolves2's action? The fact that he didn't disclose that he had included his referrer tag? I'm not bothered that he referred Amazon for a discount, and it would only make sense that he'd include *someone*'s affiliate code. If he was a true humanitarian, he would have picked a worthwhile organization that had an affiliate code and used theirs, and disclosed that fact. No, I'd say it's the fact that he used his own, and didn't disclose it, that has got our hackles up.
What's the big deal? He referred people to a book and included a link which said (to amazon) that he did so. That's not unethical, that's normal. It'd only be unethical if he had defrauded people about the book's value or done so in a story submission.
Also, what's this about being a humanitarian? Do you have anything against people making a buck?
The only way you could with watercooling create temps lower then ambient is if you use evaperation. This is not the case here and I am not sure that anyone has ever tried it. Try it by wetting you hand and holding it in front of a fan, this will be a lot cooler then youre dry hand.
A year or two back, some guys went the refrigeration route, only they went really overboard - they suspended a PC motherboard in Flourinert and ran the stuff through a fridge pump. As it turns out, Flourinert gets really thick when you cool it too much.

The press no longer even pretends to be unbiased or altruistic.
When did it ever? And how can you equate bias in mass media with a lack of free press? If you don't like it, print your own newsletter.
So, did this actually happen to you?
Nah, he's just plaigarizing a strip from thismodernworld.
And if the FPS exceeds the refresh rate, then you are guaranteed not to notice a difference.

You ever compiled windows?
Yeah. It only took a couple of hours on an 8-way dell box that cost my yearly salary. To be fair, this was a few years back, right after I graduated.
don't get off I-90 between Spokane and Missoula at night
I did that. No lights anywhere, the supermarket looked like a bunker, and I just felt totally out of place. Got right back on.
That's why i always show up 15 minutes late.
DVDs usually cost from 4000 to 5000 yen

Presumably, they save on fuel costs.
Horses are so much better than the smelly, prone-to-breakdown, ugly model T.
Damn straight. Remember, you still have to ride on a dirt road because the road company can't afford to buy its own roads (to complete the analogy).
Let me get this straight: The TGV runs at 320mph... on tracks rated for 250mph. Oh, that's gonna be fun.

Fight Club. Just happened to be the first DVD i grabbed. The PCM is called Dolby Surround. All the Anime i have does PCM as well.

Step 1: buy a 1U rackmount box with dual P3-1.2 processors
Step 2: save $150/mo. on colo charges with power to spare.
