I wonder if the folks at Hauppauge can see a spike in sales after every time a "Homebrewed PVR!" story pops up on Slashdot. I know every time someone posts a story like this I want to run to Microcenter and buy a PVR-250.
usually I could care less about award shows like this, but I am sincerely outraged that a masterpiece of a documentary like Spellbound doesn't even get NOMINATED for an award. I found that movie to be the most dramatic, suspenseful, and real movie I saw in ALL of 2003 - and it didn't get a nod for best documentary.
apparently a lot of you don't. There's a whole lot of "do your homework, kid!" going on in these replies and I would just like to remind you of when you were in high school, remember what that was like?
Kids don't want to be holed up in their rooms doing homework... they want to have a good time and experience life, enjoy their life while they're young. I somehow managed to get (most of) my work done when i found the time, get a compsci degree, and jump into the tech industry - WITHOUT having my parents breathe down my neck to get my work done. I probably would have done less work if that was the case.
try to see it from this poor kid's point of view.
sorry if I came across a little harsh, or ranting.
I've been looking for a job in boston for the past 2 months... REAL HARD -- it's close to impossible to even get a bite let alone an interview. To those of you who, in this day and age, HAVE a job... be thankful. The market out there is abysmal and please realize things could be MUCH worse.

my bad - I just found that out and came back here to nominate my parent post for "uninformed rant of the day". woops.
