From what I recall, writing comics, a few novels. I know every once in a while something pops up that development moves ahead, then stops, goes backwards, moves forward, dies, rebirths, etc on a new feature film set in the Bab5 universe called "The Memory of Shadows". The last news was that production was supposed to start in April of 05, then early Feb of 05 financing fell through and all has been quiet.
Ok, here is some reference material for you regarding this story. There is a company in Germany called Cargolifter, that has been exploring the usage of lighter than air vehicles for heavy cargo capabilities.
Their website is here:
http://www.cargolifter.com/2002/repository/splash_ e.html
From the information within the website their vehicles will be about 213 ft in diameter, 870 ft long, and a total 270 ft high (you know, cockpit and other misc mechanical stuff). They also believe they can carry up to 160 tons, and travel at speeds of about 60 mph.
They are partnered with Boeing on high altitude vehicle research, have apparently sold some to Canada, are buying engines from GE, and a second construction facility is to be built in North Carolina.
Honestly, when was the last time you bought a VHS tape, and what was it? Well, for me, was over a year ago, and was a childrens cartoon called VeggieTales. Since then, the company has begun putting its cartoons out on DVD and VHS, and going back and releasing its original episodes on DVD.
And hopefully, the theory should also pan out, if theyre removing VHS stock to make room for DVD, that means they should expand their selection as well. Unless they are truly planning to expand their DVD shelf space, but still stock the same couple hundred of movies, which is a possiblity considering other weird things stores have done in the past.
Check out the info on the xfiles page, tvguide.com, tv.yahoo.com, just about anything and you will learn Mulder comes up before a military tribunal to defend himself and his work. Now, would that make an interesting series finale, two hours of interview, or do you think they will spread that out with FLASHBACKS and RECOLLECTIONS of what Mulder has found?
Just a thought.
I just kind of think it makes sense to a point for Lucas and Co to want to restrict fandom movies that deal with characters from the movies. I mean geez, he created an entire universe and mythology, go play in it, but leave the movie characters alone. Isnt this the entire concept behind role playing games? I wouldnt want to go into a game trying to be Luke Skywalker or Han Solo, cus I am not. I want to be me, in that universe, that environment.
On the other side, I cant understand why he would restrict the fan made movies that dont fall under the "parody or documentary" format. Going through theforce.net and their fan films, there are some pretty good movies told in the Star Wars universe using original characters that is a shame they wont get the same recoginition as a parody.
