$800 is great for the machine that will be built from those parts, but $800 won't get you that machine. It will get you the parts with which you can construct that machine. The article mentions how much has changed in 15 months--that's about how much time it would take me to gather the minutes and hours to put together one of these homebuilt beauties. I want that computer and I want it for $800, not $800 + $1000 worth of my time.

I thought that was how Many Worlds worked. I imagine God cares for all of them--they are all His creation. I'm not sure I understand your other question. How does God answer prayers if all the outcomes happen? How are those related?

See, I would rather think about the story and characters while watching a story unfold than marvel at how much the CG team could accomplish with $2500 and Video Toaster. Babylon 5 looks fake. Why didn't ST:TNG use CG for the ships in flight? Because the models look better. Even with the big budgets of movies they used models. The first movie to jump whole hog into animation over models? The Phantom Menace-and it looked fake. (I distinctly recall the Gungans vs the Droids scene on that big grassy field--it looked like a cutscene from StarCraft). Firefly, admittedly better than Babylon 5, still doesn't look real enough to me. There's no sense of mass with the digital creations. It was released on December 21, 1994. That's 18 months before Quake. It's barely a year after Doom came out and three months fater Doom 2. What's it got? Deathmatches. Easy deathmatches. No hacks, tweaks, or anything. If the Macs were on an Appletalk network you could deathmatch. It was awesome. It had specials maps for deathmatches, even. What else? Rocket-jumping. Yeah, that it actually had up and down was an improvement over pretty much every other FPS at the time. And the story was amazing! There's still people arguing about it!
