    The one app that I thougth they really parrotted was MSFT's OneNote. Their new "Notes" in Mail is very similar, but of course more refined in that Apple way.

    You could make an argument that OneNote certainly had it's predecessors as well, but certainly not in the rich graphical way that made OneNote so neat when it came out.

    It's amazing what a little competition from a certain other site can do in terms of kicking the devs and editors arses into making improvements to the site.

    Sad that it took this to make these changes here, but you're not alone (see IE/Firefox, etc.)

    Each Web application can have its own config file that overrides the system-wide configuration.

    This has been around for ASP.NET web apps since the relase of .NET (Web.Config files). Vanilla HTML sites on the other hand..

    The broad question is, does the fact that you can remain compatible with today's applications and data on hardware that is almost a decade old, impede PC sales?

    Yep. My dad and many other *average* pc shoppers don't know that W2K can run on 8 year old hardware.

    The sky isn't falling just about yet. The Dems won't let through any hard-core conservatives and many people tend to forget that O'Connor was a Reagan appointee that was supposed to have been a conservative voter, yet she more often than not was more of a moderate or sometimes even liberal voter.

    Porn has a very clear definition - material where the primary purpose is erotic i.e. arousing the viewer.

    The parent was actually a reference to Supreme Court Justic Potter Stewart's quote from the obscenity case of Jacobellis v. Ohio.

    ..why not work on a feature such as downloading email from my existing POP accounts, so I can consolidate all my email into one service?

    Check out GMail Loader (GML). I think this takes care of what you're looking for.

    It is painfully slow. Dr. Divx kept crashing on me, but I was able to convert some files with the GraphEdit approach.

    I've just resorted to initiating the transfers before I go to bed. Just like the good old days -- a 3 hour download of "Stairway to Heaven" over copper. :)
