Gravitons could be exploited to defeat limitations of photons for faster than light communication under certain circumstances if they did not obey speed invariance in that respect.
Why would it be the same as light, if it depends on a different property of space-time as you suggest?
Also, it would be interesting to see if the speed of gravity were invariant, like light.

Light has mass? no it does not.. the energy of a photon has a mass equivalence, but it does not have mass.
