    The last two apps I worked on were approved around the one-week mark. However, there's a lot of variance (sometimes it's same day, sometimes three of four weeks if the reviewers find bugs or UI issues.

    Being google+, it's entirely possible the reviewer had to wait 2 weeks before he was able to activate his g+ account to test it.

    prior to that, he pushed out a lot of incredibly minor updates ("fixed a typo in a comment"), seemingly to increase the ad impressions on his web site. Which used javascript (google analytics and ads) and was whitelisted by default.

    avahi is fine (it's a re-implementation of Apple's bonjour/zero-conf for broadcasting local dns and services. quite useful).

    Treasury bonds have a fixed interest rate so dumping will not affect the interest rates on existing bonds. (The exception being TIPS which are linked to the CPI, which the government controls).

    There are only two reasons why any person or organization would use MySQL:

    1) They are ignorant of real database systems. 2) They have an existing code base that has trapped them into using MySQL.

    I imagine that the first reason does not apply to Facebook.

    face book uses php, yes, but it's compiled to c++ with hiphop, so it's a subset of php.

    Perl's DBI has always encouraged placeholders whereas php/mysql has encouraged building your own query by hand.

    Per Helvering vs Davia, Social Security is a tax and Congress can spent it any way they wish. Per Flemming vs Nestor, you have no contractual or 5th amendment rights to receive Social Security payments.
