These aren't for retired people, they're the (formerly) annual statements sent to workers listing their expected benefits based on previous FICA taxes paid.
The full source code should ring alarm bells, too. It runs on their phones, in their vans. You don't have access to the hardware to verify it's running the source code they provided (and only the source code they provided). You don't have access to their compilers to verify it's not inserting other code.
I prefer the gentoo live cd. Comes with a boot-strapped gcc and source code for linux, gnu/userland, x, gnome (and kde if that's your thing), libre office, etc.
Having to compile a full OS before using it really shows people why FREE software is a fundamental human right.
It's pretty well known that Amazon has terrible pricing terms -- 20% of the list price (that you set but must be lower than the price on any other app store) or 70% of the retail price that they set however they want. You have no control over the price.
Starting with OS X, Apple has been willing to throw away the past and replace it with something which may currently be a step back but has better internals and will be better in the future -- OS X, QuickTime X, Xcode 4, FCP X, clang, etc. (About time they do that with iTunes...).
A lot of people (and businesses) looked at Vista and stayed on Windows XP. Eventually, Windows 7 came out, fixing some of the problems (also, hardware was better and had more memory...).
Likewise, if FCPX won't work, you can still use FCP 7 until Apple adds back the missing features.
Still it seems like they should continue selling and supporting FCP 7 for a while or have called it Final Cut X Express so they could get the feedback without the complaints.
Paul Graham, I believe, has advocated not hiring engineers/programmers but rather buying up start up companies that demonstrate interesting ideas and technical abilities. Google, Apple, and Microsoft all buy companies (or hire open source developers) for talent rather than products. Hell, a friend of mine got rejected in a google interview, started a hobby project, and was bought out by google 3 months later.
Perhaps he meant 1,000/number_of_android_sales > 4,000/number_of_iphone_sales, which only holds true if number_of_iphone_sales > number_of_android_sales * 4.

Not an issue if you only use FREE software.
