  1. Re:Its a basic right? on Comcast Blocks Yet Another ISPs E-Mail · · Score: 1

Right. The "basic right" you have is to tell your service provider to shove it, if they don't provide you what you like, and go give your money to a provider that does give what you want. Or just run a mail server yourself, and have precisely the configuration you'd like.

Quoth Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie: "Thank you for downloading another fine, quality comedy product from Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie, and your friends at mp3.com. Of course, if you've downloaded this from napster, screw you! You know what, free isn't good enough for you! You gotta... rip us off? You know what? I will find you, and I will kill you." Anyway... I unDRM songs I buy from iTunes... I might try this one out, too, upon which I would immediately unDRM anything I got. If I couldn't figure out how to do that, I'd trash the thing.

  3. Re:Nice Review and... on Attack of the B-Grade Games · · Score: 1

When was that ever a B-game? I could see calling Worms (the original) a B-game with AAA-Game fun. Ok, maybe only single-A fun. It was good, but there were flaws. Most of the flaws got fixed in Worms 2, and most of the rest got fixed in Armageddon. By that point, they seemed to have gotten a pretty large, vocal fanbase, too. Then their fanbase all left when they produced Worms 3d, which was just totally missing the point of the series... but I digress.

Hey, I got a pretty good price for mine: free. Namely, it came with my laptop. Wouldn't have bought a printer from them that cost money, but hey, I needed a new printer, might as well use theirs. Seems to work pretty well, too, so far.

  5. Re:blame yourself MPAA on Steal This Film · · Score: 1

Reason #4: the internet is full of people reviewing movies, reviews which are increasingly easier to find in large numbers. The vast majority of movies these days (and, to be fair, probably any other time as well) have sucked a lot. Put two and two together, you mostly get people going to movies that are worth going to. Reason #5: movie theatres are making inceasingly large amounts of money putting up obscenely, horrifically annoying ads all over everywhere. The more a theatre plays the same retarded ad for some kind of soda I hate, three times during the 20 minutes I'm waiting for the movie to start, the less I feel like ever going back.

"It seems that most Wikipedia arguments are over trifling matters that don't really concern the average reader". On that note... I have just lost the game. :D Remember that one, wikipedia followers? Cause I sure do.

  7. much irony indeed: on Weird Al Says 'Don't Download This Song' · · Score: 1

    * I found out about Weird Al in 8th grade or thereabouts, when a friend of mine made me a copy of his cassette of Bad Hair Day, Al's most recent album at the time. Not long after, Napster became big, and I downloaded every Weird Al song I could find (despite not having dsl yet; I was working off a 56k connection). Then I went out and bought a bunch of cds. * I wasn't sure whether I was going to bother preordering it, or wait to hear the opinions of others' before buying it (not that I should really have any doubt in Weird Al's talent, but it's always nice to be sure). But, after downloading this song, and loving it, I immediately went and preordered the cd. * The other factor leading me to really want this cd: I read that it contains instrumental tracks of all of its songs. I enjoy messing around with song sampling, and I've wanted to mix a Weird Al song for *ages*. One would assume he'd have problem with that, but his label might... * On that note... the track is hosted on a server owned by Volcano Records, which is owned by Zomba Music Group, which is owned by BMG.

  8. just get someone else to do it on Computer Voodoo? · · Score: 1

My favorite: I once had a laptop with modular drives, and somewhat spontaneously, my zipdrive module (remember those?) stopped working. No response at all - the laptop just didn't think anything was in the drive bay. I asked my stepdad to come over and check it out.

He pops it in. It works fine. He leaves.

I go to back up my stuff the next day. It's gone again.
