I think that copy-protecting computers is a *very* bad idea, considering that they take functionality AWAY from the computer bought with your money.
But, if someone "copy-protects" the computer, I'll be the first in line to download the crack to remove it.
Better solution: Copy-protect Windows. That piece of crap needs a smaller support base anyway.
That would be the perfect for someone who's got to go to *sigh* school everyday. I can't read the site, cause it's in Japanese. But the pictures and concept are a great idea. I don't give a damn about screen size or carpal-tunnel syndrome as long as I can set the resolution to 5680x4240 like I do on all my other computers. I'll just go blind.
Although the teacher's attitude towards "piracy" and "stealing" are good, considering the fact that my particular institute of learning has teachers who are, in all honesty, not good enough with the technology to know how to use said programs. But, I've seen the various cases of students downloading BearShare and KaZaA for use on school computers.
The point is, people, that this is causing or will cause a severe bottleneck. This isn't fair to the students who have to use the networks for *gasp* school related projects. If everyone's using HD/bandwidth to download illegal files while two or three people are trying to research the science project, the people doing what they're supposed to do aren't gonna get in.
So, what I would do in the situation is block the ports, and blame spyware. Make sure to exaggerate about the spyware. Most non-techno savvy teachers will repulse at the thought of KaZaA, Inc. collecting their personal information, and hate junk mail with a passion. Take (albeit, unscrupulously [sp?]) advantage of their relative ignorance here.
And block the ports for good measure.
Jesus told you to mod me up.
Gross, but... try to top this.
worth a shot. sadly, the amount of trek props in your house is inversely proportional (proportionate?) to the times laid while residing in said house.
good point. i need coffee to realize these things.
I just bought one yesterday. ARGH!

13 DD. I'm the fat kid.
It's a great way to get kids to learn about science, but is anyone else thinking "E-Z Bake Meth Lab"?

Buy a tinfoil hat, a shotgun, some TV glasses, and a bomb shelter and move to Iceland.
