From my understanding, dependent on local laws, one cannot record audio without the permission of the persons being recorded. How is this different with video?
It depends on whether or not you want to put your new laptop to sleep, use airport extreme, or want 3D graphics. You can use a Wireless PCI card adaptor, and shut your computer down to work around those quirks. The think with Apple hardware is, it is cutting edge and it takes some time to support. I remember how much work it took to get firewire recognized on my old iMac running linux. Now, it just works out of the box. The latest Debain (Sid) supports bluetooth out of the box now.
I also fall under the 20% songs actually found on iTunes, but that is because you actually cannot find many of the artists that I have. But I have 2 questions for you:
40 Chick Corea albums are not enough? 76 Coltrane abums do not satisfy your hunger?
Granted, as with the combo of artist album and song may not bring it up, but, not as an example of rare, hard to find, "in a sentimental mood" is listed 102 times.
I says (while starting up Gnutella) Sorry but I can name dozens of the Beatles songs, but have only heard of Jay Z. I am sure I would recognize him, but whatever... Sounds like a publicity stunt.
Im not trying to troll here, but Tog really likes OS 9, doesn't he? Its as if he's taken personal offense for every change, and just to make it more powerful, you can add these utilities to make it just like 9 again!

ON a cd player, there are only 12 songs, so its a better change to pick someone up with 1000 songs.
I remember when I got the first ipod. There was definitly the cult of the secret white headphones in the beginning. I remember it was like: Wink, wink, nod, nod. You spent $500 on something that fits in your pocket. Your a mac user. Now its normal to see about 10 people on the subway with those white headphones. Now there are just as many women with ipods, and not everyone is a geek.
Yes, it was meant as a joke. I was going to originally use just Quake framerates, but creating gaussian blurs are equally useless for me. Seriously, though, setiathome kicks ass on my G5, about 1 unit every 2 hours. I wonder if Berkeley should be using a G5 supercomputer and forget everyone else!
Yes, it might make some fast scientific calculations really really fast, but I want to know how fast it does some real world stuff. Give me some Quake framerates, or Photoshop gaussian blur benches.
But if your PB was newer and had Airport Extreme, and the nvidia g-card, you would be singing a different tune. I had my 12" and gleefully installed ydl 3.0 as they said they support the 12" but the wireless did not work and ppc support for nvidia is nonexistent.

Start firing up Azureus, just need the torrent. Or is this not "free" to a long time ydl user?

Human Psychiatrist: $300/hr.
Robot Psychiatrist $100,000

Or you can just download a binary here: http://gimp-app.sourceforge.net/

So if I use Arial does that make me a terrorist?
All that TV and you spend your time posting in /.
I prefer the free cable that I get by splicing my internet cable connection :P
Pine is default for some universities, for students emails.
Finally someone (parent) with reason and view of the bigger picture. Even as a Slashdot/Apple type, it is incredibly difficult to resist the pull.
Mod parent up for being hilarious (not insightful, shees!) because 3 posters (as of now) thought this comment was serious!
Well good luck getting the new Brittany Spears CD then! :P

Interesting point, but and Apple users would never use SUXX0R and definitely learned not ALL CAPS.
LMAO, please someone mod the parent up!

At least it is not in perpetual beta like some other networking idea....
