How in the world is Exchange, and the Windows environment you need for it, plus all clients *having* to be Windows (at least MS licensed, for money), cheap?
Well, we are at least trying. With the next generation of weather predictions. Why do you think the "Earth Simulator" supercomputer was named that way?:)
What? You are supposed to 1. pull back the foreskin before putting it on top. and then 2. roll it down. Is that so hard? And I find them very flexible.
Well, maybe you have to try bigger ones. I have too. We're not all equal.
Nope. Solar cells in space don't. They would only make some extraterrestrial scientists from far away go "wtf", when our sun vanishes because the panels are blocking the light. ^^ Oh, and if we had life on another planet, it would block them and change solar winds for them too. But this is very harmless for dead planets with a magnetic shield.
Thinking that taking energy from wind would change nothing is ignorant, blind and very stupid. Similar to when people thought, humans were special and no animals, there would be a "soul" that makes us different, earth would be the center of the universe, etc.
The only power generation that makes sense for now, is solar anyway. It does not matter into what form it transforms the energy. Steam, electricity, etc. At least until we will be enough people that the panels would start to block out major parts of the sun's light. But until then, fusion should be ready. ^^
What conflicts of interest? Their only interest is making money. By any means. The content that comes out is completely irrelevant, if it does not affect this interest.
There is no either or. You can have Comcast, AT&T, the local city, AND some others. This is more or less what we have here in cologne. And the EU is suing Germany, because the Telekom (ex-government) did not open up its net for others.
The result is, that I can have a 10 Mb flat (and I mean a real flat, without an invisible cap, where your contract is terminated.), with digital TV and phone flat, for 25€. Or a 100 Mb flat with a phone flat for 35€ I call that a pretty fair price.:)
Well, see it like this: At least with government, there is a chance that you won't completely get screwed over, and that they will do something *for* you. A company by definition tries to take as much from you as possible, while giving back as little as possible. Also, at least in theory, you can fire your government, and vote another one in place. Try that with a company.
I see todays companies more as feudalistic empires than as anything else. Including the all-powerful king, his knights, the castle, the peers, and the bond-slave peasants.
You know, how Vinyl is supposed do be higher quality because it is lower in quality but sounds softer because of that?
Just wait for the same thing happening for film. ^^
I wonder, though, if we should really completely kill film off. Why not keep it for its artistic value. Think of the effects you can create in a darkroom. And it also can make more sense than to print a digital photo onto a plastic film. This would be the "scratching culture" of photography, so to speak.

O rly? Allright then:* I will come over, catch you, and rape you for one week straight. Including your whole family. Then I will burn down your company. With you. Veeery slowly. And piss on your grave. Then I'll start the really sick things.
Do you really think there is nothing wrong with saying that? REALLY? ^^
* This paragraph is there for demonstration purposes, and does not reflect my personality in any way. I don't think I have to mention this. But I know some/.ers are really *weird*.:)
The point of GPP and GPPP was, that the stuff you buy at those chains, do not have much to do with the original meat they come from. They are some industrialized mix of stuff that nobody really knows what it is, and what's in it anymore.
I never got one. And I also do not have a separate TV.
I don't understand, what the point of those things is? My computer can do all this. Including a remote control. Including a 120 inch screen (beamer). Including Dolby digital. And without any audible noise.:)
Oh, and I threw away my TV receiver card years ago. There are better shows on the net.
When you can get a smartbook that can do all this, runs 10 hours, and costs $100-$200? (Remember the article here on/., about these [ARM + nVidia Tegra acceleration + Linux] devices coming out in autumn?)
How in the world is Exchange, and the Windows environment you need for it, plus all clients *having* to be Windows (at least MS licensed, for money), cheap?
The obvious error here, is that you have to use Exchange as the e-mail server (if you can still call that e-mail). ^^
Put some CourierIMAPS on there, if you can.
Well, we are at least trying. With the next generation of weather predictions. Why do you think the "Earth Simulator" supercomputer was named that way? :)
No comment on how good they are, though. ^^
Heat is no wind. It can not move seeds. Or change a climate. Bring clouds of rain over fields of plants. Etc.
There is no excuse. It is inherently stupid, to use wind power. No matter how you turn and twist it.
And with all the STDs too. This only works if you trust the other person enough.
Oh, and have you ever seen bunnies having sex? Woman have a reason to call bad sex "bunny style". ^^

People aren't idiots.
Yeah, right. When was the last time, you interacted with any non-NPC? :P
Depends on what your job is payed in. :)
Get yourself payed in gold. Plain and simple. :)
Then the whole "crisis" can bite you!

Yes. In partially civilized countries, like Germany, for example. :P
But we are going down the drain pretty quickly. Now our "government" is unconstitutional too.

Or a wacky bastard in the USA lobbing his real missiles into Iraq. Oh, wait! ^^

Depends on who you include in "state".
I, for one, stopped including the government in this.
I think you rather have to blame the people who watch this, and are not disgusted by it.
I still haven't seen even one minute of 24. Because of the mindset that is presented in there.

And what about humans.
You know that our brain and nerves work electromagnetically, and many processes in our body do not expect a strong magnetic field on the outside.
A weak field, OK. But a strong one will be bad. So the question is: How strong is still OK, and is the one who defines this trustworthy?
Well, I think being fryed (a little, or a little more) when standing in-between the devices, also does not "jibe" that much...
Try to put them anywhere near me, and I will sue you to hell and back. ^^
No. But we accidentially there.

...that American Grads do not like to be treated like slaves?
So shit Sherlock? ^^
I find that a good thing, actually.
