as a user i would rather pay $170 for a RH Workstation license that gives me support and full access to RedHat Network (for 3 years), then pay $99/year for access to RHN up2date only.
every cell fone should have a SSH client and a IP address. Being a Sys Admin, I know how important it is to get access to SSH.
If you can create a SSH tunnel (see mindterm through your your company's firwall, you can get to any intranet server using SSH on your cellfone
Or you could even SSH tunnel into your cell, and retreive telefone number, addresses(or other data).
A wiki with Workflow and authentication wrapped around it.
The only thing missing is WebDAV support. With WebDAV support people could collaboratively edit the documents (spreadsheet etc) attached to the webpages.
We have produced a bloat free, easy to install, configure and maintain Slackware based system that is second to none
how can a software be "bloat free" and "easy to install, configure and maintain" at the same time?
I am not anti "easy to install, configure, maintain" (even though I use command line text console for administering NIS+), but there a quite a few distro that claim to do just that like Mandrake, Suse etc, and they are not that bloated.
My first question is: why do you need a SLR camera? If you are just looking for a digital camera, that can do good macro shots, take a look at Sony's Cyber Shot DSC-F717 . The macro shots with this camera are very good. However I personally think the camera is little flaky (could be just me). I also have a Canon PowerShot S50. It is a very good all purpose digital camra. Here are shots from a Canon S50 Panoramic and regular
bottom line: dont buy a digital SLR, unless you really need a SLR.
i know of people who tried to remove themselves from the spam mailing list by clicking on the "remove me from mailing list" link/button. which only made things worse:(
i haven't seen any site that does that. have you checked our the creative commons website? they made all the legalese very easy to comprehend... http://www.creativecommons.org/license/ and http://creativecommons.org/learn/licenses/ . There comics, and animated make the CC licensing very easy to comprehend and use.
oh btw if you dont want to setup tunneling manually, you can also purchase appgate's mindterm, which a a webbased tunneling java program, that is very easy to setup.
FTP uses 2 ports: port 21 for control connection(passwd/authentication) and port 20 for data transfer.
You just need to tunnel 21 through SSH, and leave 20 unecrypted.
Very simple technique, but very powerful. I use SSH tunneling everyday. openssh supports tunneling and the windows downloadable form http://www.ssh.com also supports it. takes 3 mins to setup the tunnel.
too many cooks spoil the broth. similarly too many programmers spoil the pizza (or maybe the application in this case) . I started a project when I was in university with XML. The whole technology stack was pretty complicated. At first no one was interested, but then there was a surge of people that wanted to participate. I thought the more the merrier. but then i spent first few months just explaning the technology (offcourse I myself was new to that stack) to everyone. no fun.
I dont think so. I have learned gibberish instead. It is more commonly used these days. Atleast all of my relatives/foe seems to be speaking gibberish to me. And being a techie, I avoid any contact except by email. And 90% of the email I get is gibberish (spam).
So now tell who is better off. Someone who speak esperanto or gibberish????
Get xythos or webdav.
WebDAV integrated with LDAP solved the file attachment problem for us.
xythos is a commercial implementation of WebDAV.

Here are some other links about issues with nano-tech http://www.theecologist.org/searchResults.html?arc hiveOnly=1&searchString=nanotechnology&Search=Sear ch
and here is a one that talk abouts issues with brain implants to boost intelligence.
I wish rav antivrus had done the same.
indeed a good move. if MS had purchased google, google would have lost lots of linux users.
similar to what happened to hotmail.
hey, if I had this cluster when I did my CS, I could have gotten away with writing, bad/bloated 3D rendering libraries.... hehe.

What came out of that merger?

vmware's ESX supports Linux.
i think this maybe exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for the URL.
It supports links and page breaks. those were 2 of my major requirements.
Yea I am using FO to generate PDF on my Cocoon server ( http://www.xml-dev.com ) right now. It worx out pretty nicely. :)
hmm (i think) this would require installing OO on customers computers, which i have no control over :(
one problem with this solution is that, I will lose the ability to have hyperlinks in the document. (i think). correct me if i m wrong.

i would have been nice to have more details on the future of RSYNC.w files.php?group_id=1148&release_id=276
and is using for synchronization.
RSYNC works on unix/linux
rsync worx on windows using cyygin.dll
Novell ported RSYNC to Netware http://forge.novell.com/modules/xfmod/project/sho
So RSYNCS is definitely the product of choice for syncrhonization. What lies in future for RSYNC????

Look at "ShareAlike" and Non-commericial. The symbols are wrong.
Also why did they make the "ShareAlike" symbol very similar to CopyLeft? It confused when I first saw it.....
