Yes, but many analysts also believe that a solid understansing [sic] of the English language and grammatical profeciency [sic] are even more important...
[...] when I got to the register I saw a stack of iPods sitting there. I decided, right there on the spot, to get one for myself and one for my girlfriend.
Next time you decide to go shopping, give me a call:-)
Question: I'm a UNIX command line newbie, but I'm trying this Open command, and wondering how you handle files, applications, and directories with spaces in the name. They don't seem to be usable this way.
Either escape the spaces (using the \) or enclose the filename in quotation marks.
There are plenty of other ways of doing it, but those are the quickest.
Beta62 had tabs, although there were some really annoying bugs (like the close tab command occasionally closing the whole window instead. DOH!)
Let me get this straight... you're complaining that an INTERNAL BETA VERSION of a program has a bug in it?
We weren't meant to have it, so don't act like Apple overlooked a major functionality... they just weren't done yet with the implementation. It's that simple.
Geez.
FYI, no wget on my MacOS X 10.2.4 install, but curl is there.
In OS 10.0.X and 10.1.X, Apple included wget as the "fetcher" app of choice.
In OS 10.2.X, however, they changed over to curl (which I think was a good move, but others may disagree).
Thus, if you upgraded from 10.[0|1].X to 10.2.x, you have both curl and wget. Otherwise you only have one of the two, as outlined above.
Someone with more than [32,000 songs] is, in the eyes of the RIAA, "Stealing" music.
I highly doubt that this has anything to do with the RIAA or copyright infringement.
When iTunes starts deleting songs for you based on content, I'll post a photo of me sticking my foot in my mouth.
Until then, lay off the conspiracy theories (well, at least about iTunes)
Because Apple built iTunes for OS 9 first. Carbon is primarily for OS 9 to OS X compatibility.
If Apple were to rewrite iTunes today, it would most likely be a Cocoa application.
I certainly wouldn't vote for jobs, even though he's cool, hes way to schitzephrenic (spelling?), one minute you think he's going to release OSX for x86, the next he puts out another stupid line of macs and says they're pentium toasters. Ick
Two things I had to reply to:
Jobs never promiseed OS X for x86. That was the rumor sites... so to claim that he is schizophrenic over that is crazy.
The whole "pentium toaster" thing came from about the time when Macs were faster than PCs. (Ah, what a glorious time that was). As far as I know, Jobs hasn't made any assertions like that in a while.
Even if there was only one person working on the codebase, it is open source. No one person/corporation/entity can effectively 'kill the code'. The code is free to live.
I'd mod you up if I had points [HINT HINT]... but since I don't, I'll just voice my agreement.
Even if all hell broke loose in the Chimera team and they abandoned the project in a fit of rage, Chimera would most likely just end up on sourceforge.net.
Of course, I find something I love and *Apple* of all companies threatens to kill it, indirectly.
Plain and simple: Apple does not have the power to kill off the Chimera project. Apple can create another similar product, but it is up to the end user to decide.
Plus, I think everyone is missing the mark a bit: both browsers are free. These organizations/companies aren't going to be shut-out financially... they weren't getting the users' money for these browsers in the first place!
If the developers choose to shut down the Chimera project, it would be a shame, but it would be their decision. To blame that decision on Apple is ridiculous.
COULD YOU PLEASE STOP YELLING IN MY EAR??? :-)
Too easy.
YHBT. YHL. HAND.

then again, who knows.

so you're assuming you don't need a newline after "WTF?"
Heck, even a moron can launch a nuke given the proper manuals...

Aren't they supposed to set a good example or something?
