What qualifies as a modern fission plant? I live near Indian Point in Westchester, NY. This article from 2001 seems to indicate that it's not all that safe to live near this plant. Just curious... and probably paranoid too.:p
Anyone notice what appears to be a broken nanowire towards the bottom left of the picture? I wonder what kind of fault-tolerance these sturctures have for that sort of thing.
If they do end up filing a class action, everyone on/. deserves a piece simply for all the hours of our lives we've lost reading about SCO's stupidity.
I dunno. On the surface this looks like a good review, but enough factors are there to suggest that this is, indeed, a somewhat underhanded advertising tactic. I used to work at an online shopping site that did this sort of guerilla marketing all the time.
The guy is a bit obvious in the way he consistently uses the term ".NET remoting" everywhere. I also suspect he deliberately didn't tell us what remoting is so we'd go find out.
FWIW, now I know, so I guess he succeeded in his efforts. That bastard!
I would kill for something like this with Counter-Strike. Finally all those hours I spend could be put to exercise AND fragging. The ideal rig would make it possible to do all the basic movements- run, walk, strafe, crouch, jump, etc.
Has anyone else ever felt that the multiple monitor thing had detrimental effectes to his vision? I was using 2 monitors on my Mac back in 1996 and swore by it. After about a year or two though, I got "lazy eye," where one eye stares off in one direction while the other stays focused in front of you. I wonder if my eyes were trying to watch both monitors simultaneously.
...I find that, usually, my only source of news is just what I read on slashdot- Eeeek! I know that's bad, but I usually have my laptop open to it and just hit refresh throughout the day. I come home and my wife tells me about stuff she read in the paper. I reply with gripes about the latest SCO story. Sad but true.
Wha? That sounded kind of interesting until I searched Google for "symantec manhunt pricing" and came back with $15,000!
I think I'll go with a copy of Snort and one of those books.

I think Yum may be the future for up2date-style functionality for free.

The Internet in general is an attractive nuisance to script kiddies.
Holy #$%! Let's get to it!

I use this whenever I'm on someone else's machine and they don't have an AV program installed.

This doesn't seem like earth-shattering news. It's kind of like saying, "Hey! Microsoft is willing to embrace HTML." Am I missing something?
If they're suing the person responsible for the internet connection, how did they come up with the girl's name?

Good recommendation. So good I bookmarked it.

I thought about using BrightStor- but then I realized I could save $500,000 by using rsync to my parents' basement.
