Actually they have options that are cheapier and more expencive. My roommate and I have their 8DVD plan for only $40 per month (39.95) and that works perfect. We always have our 8DVD's at once, and in the 2 years I have personally been using them, the only bad thing is when the postman broke one of the DVD's. Netfilx was very understanding about that too... I strongly reccommend Netflix, and would advise to avoid any others as the only others I have tried sucked.

On the flip side, a few buddies and I who live in the heart of the wine industry (Napa Valley, CA) are trying to program computer-controlled cooling/heating/mixing systems etc... for the wine industry. Perhaps we can/should work on converting this to a standard HVAC thermostat as well. (note: we actually have been thinking of doing that but were worried about a possibally weak market.) Any suggestions?

If they just expected you to work the entire time that you were not on vacation or holiday, then they would have to pay an excessive labor tax. The current formula is that for every 16 hours worked, they are REQUIRED to allow at least 1 hour of SICK time as well as the formula of 10 min. break for every 4 hrs worked and at least 30 min lunch for every 8 conescutive work hours. The fact is that the amount of expected loss compared to the amount of actual loss is a great difference and be thankful that we are not actually seizing our every last opportunity to take sick time... THAT would dramatically RUIN most businesses. Also, you can NOT forget that most true geeks already put in closer to 60 hours of work time per week (I forgot where but there was an actual survey and the result was close to something like 60 hours of work every week excluding comute) and that most will just take an afternoon or long-lunch to watch the movie... you are thinking about trekkies with Trek conventions when you go into the whole sick dya part!!
