When, as a software company, you abandon developers and decide that the people who actually use your software are not really your Customers you cannot do well.
To me, it seems like the problems of making energy and storing energy are different problems and a good way to store energy has applications no matter how it is produced. Obviously a energy source with no carbon footprint is better.
Tinfoil hat and all, it seems like too big a coincidence. Seems like there is other work out there no matter what the GOP is paying, and most importantly most people do not like being dead.
If he was talking about pure run rate to code then yes. I always used run rate to code times 10 to estimate. Surprisingly, it works fairly well as you need to do a bunch of stuff besides coding like collect requirements, documentation, etc.
This is about the stupidest argument the ISP's have come up with yet. No one would use the internet if there was nothing on it. I bet an argument they have not considered is that they should be paying Google for their users having access to their services. Seems like the ISP's are getting a good deal as is.
I have yet to see a client side solution that worked well. There is just too much to consider to ever do it right. There was even an application I ran one time that did not like the version of the java engine installed on my machine, but another application that wanted a different version so neither application would work without re-installation every time.
You can do this already with any media player you like for Myth Video. I have mine setup to use Xine.
For recorded shows, the internal player is actually quite good. The killer feature for me is that it skips commercials without any need to press any keys on the remote. It just happens automagically. Since Mythtv recorded them, there is no need to worry about codecs.
The bailout was not to make those rich few richer, it was to make the economy recover, but when you ask what they are spending it on the banks will not say. Who says the banks are not hiding this $700 billion windfall in the closet already? I think they are.
I do not think that you understand the intent. I think it would be better to kneecap the entire patent system than to let patent trolls to continue to stifle everything. Trade secrets do not require you to disclose your invention to anyone.
They could fix patent trolls like this in one swoop if they change the law to be use it or loose it. And if you loose it, it should be come open to the public for someone else to pick up and use... for free. Think of the stimulus to the economy.
These kinds of comments are quite interesting as there are a lot of them. On the one hand they say that Vista IS slower. But subjectively they then say is not so bad and there are all these great features that make up for it. Well, I have used Vista and there were no great features that made up for it being bloated and slow for me. It is a bit hard to believe people would accept some window dressing of a fundamentally flawed OS is going to actually make better. It makes sense that Microsoft is trying to stop the hemorrhaging with this PR move, but really they should address the root problems.
Geez, get over it already. You cannot possible get everyone to pay every time they play a game. Being nickel and dimed to death has put several companies for other products on the do not buy list. Epic's thinking is a slippery slope to no sales at all.
I have used vista and it is noticeable more bloated and slow than XP (or linux). Not sure how you have arrived at this conclusion, but a lot of others have also noted that "vista is slow".
Not thinking of it does not make it a cool problem that would be interesting to a competent programmer to solve. "Not invented here" should be stomped out of everyone that pushes it.

as long as they it is legal to hack into the UK Police Computers. They should have no problems, what do they have to hide?
but this is fantastic. I use perl every day and love it.

No DRM. Why even worry about crap consoles.

They are talking about compiling languages into javascript so it is still a valid point.
Seems like the US Gov could save $800 billion alone in the financial sector for something that is having no payoff.

I bought the D.Vine 5 HTPC Case by Ahanix and like it.
For anyone considering SageTV, it has it's own problems and gotchas. Having to pay for it would really piss me off.

Seems pretty clear that people appreciated the DRM-free game more. Not treating Customers like criminals looks like it is more profitable.
They should also get any of the $700 billion back from the banks.
The bailout was not to make those rich few richer, it was to make the economy recover, but when you ask what they are spending it on the banks will not say. Who says the banks are not hiding this $700 billion windfall in the closet already? I think they are.
At least we will know where the money was spent and what it was spent on unlike the $700 billion bank bailout for the rich few.

Funny, too. Any idiot that trolls forums without anything useful or meaningful to add in their responses is just that, an idiot.
