A lot of people now are usign XSI though, and I seem to remember a while back a full-featured version(with very strict license) was avalible for FREE. There is also a personal learning edition of Maya, but it is im-fucking-possible to use because it has this water mark, on the renderings AND in the workspace.
I think "the second movie of that one series that was once great, but the first one fubared it, and I can never again mention the title of it", was rendered in XSI =/
Why don't they just threaten to sto seling ALL M$ products in australia...
Would probably work... Of course, if they weren't bluffing, and they didn't change the law it would be good thing for linux.
A few days ago I made a batch file that flooded every computer in the room in my (lame)computer programming class... The teachers computer is set up with a projector, and he was trying to do somthing but couldn't because he was recieving so many messages. Needless to say, they didn't find it very funny, and they said that anyone who uses net send will lose their internet privlige, lol, our network admin is a fucking fat epsilon semi-moron =/
lol
I've only gotten in trouble for unattended macroing, and it wasn't even a ban.
But in case they are reading, I better not tell them that the char is on Atlantic shardm his name is Subterfuge and he is sitting on a boat in the middle of the ocean east of Moonglow...
Wait, I shouldn't of said that =/
This stuff is nothing new... I use a program called easy uo to work my Ultima Online chars all the time. I can be working up magery and coding or working in Maya at the same time, in fact, I'm at school right now and I'm playing UO at home^^
Yes, it may be sad. But why should any of us care?? There are over 6 billion people on this earth, and millions die everyday... I don't have time to care for everyone.
And there's nothing wrong with finding some humomr is somthing that is tragic =/
I love mine, it was definitly worth the cash... I'd suggest that if you get one, pay a little extra and get a lifetime subscription.
Now I just can't wait until I can afford a DVD ROM...
I'm not sure, but this looks to be the same one that was featured in Scientific America... If not, please flame the hell out of me =D
According to the article, it is targeted for 3rd world countries. It could be used for a variety of things, including education... It even works for the illiterate! It has a small speaker and will talk to you.
Unfortunatly, it runs on AAA batteries, and only lasts a few hours... It is slow, applications are slow, and it takes about 15 seconds to boot. And if it runs idle too long, it is prone to crashing.
It's not really targeted for the US tech junkie I guess, but it's still a pretty cool idea. Personally, I'm going to be bugging the hell out of my parents for a Zaurus =D
I am just an amature, but I really like Maya...

Oh yeah, great idea...
Use a product from a giant evil corporation trying to get away from a giant evil corporation!
I'm sure M$ won't catch on to this stuff... *rolleyes*
I wouldn't be suprised if M$ already was monitoring your communications on msn...
