True, but how long is it going to be before it's ported over or reiserfs? The Open Source door swings both ways. It's good news for me, most of my experiance is Solaris way more then Linux. I currently have a very Solaris Accent to my linux-speak, so soon it's gonna be all the rege.
Not just that they have 8+ years of dealing with 64bit processors. Still uncommon in the linux world while we stand around waiting for AMD & INTEL to finish milking the suits with their latest increase in X86 single processor units.
I don't have an Apple. (Sadly, I already run too many systems Sparc,Linux, windoze) But rebuilding a 2000 era Dell system for my Sister it identified the monitor right off were my recent Gigabyte P4 board still would not. Same OS same method of install same installer (me).
When that box was designed, it was by someone who gave a damn about quality of the parts. I am not suprised that Apple worked. They really are better built boxes.

Lots of stuff should be gone from the air. It is the cycle of life(?) At least they finally killed off Fiends.
RIAA is a evil empire but not for the MP3 issue. I worked in the Music industry for 10 years. I have friends who had major name bands. Even Grammy awards. They have little to show for it now, not because of the usual problems like drug etc. The Record companies never give the artists more then 10% of income from their product. However they are the only game in town. The RIAA, really doesn't give a rat's ass about the sharing of files. What they want is to stop the medium, and keep control of their slaves.
Now is a great time to use the same user names as those on their list. Kazaa and it's relatives don't care about you username. All a defendant needs to is prove that the username is still in use when the computer in question is provably off and the case is tossed.
So do you friends a favor and swip their username.
Instead of telecommuting we a guild. Our Guild takes over the responsablity for a contract so someone at the company make sure the job gets done. 90% of our projects are telecommute jobs.
Of the people I worked for in the tech industry half have changed Companies or even States three or four times in the last three years. I have good solid Refs but their contact info often goes bad in a New York Minute. Even the Managers and HR staffers vanish overnight. The turnover rate of the industry clouds the good and bad alike. Then who do you have to rely on for intel about the prospect? The Commissioned Recruiter?
You want coders, your best bet is to hire an coding shop like mine. They take the job, not some clown off the street. Sure they charge a bit more but they deal with the HR and timetables. Who does the job is handled by the shop not your staff. Your hiring a department not a coder.
You want it cheap, roll the dice like the rest of us.
Sadly I can't get the Theme from 'Dual, Parallel Trouble Adventure' out of my head. And Soultaker is a very nice style to it. I really enjoyed the Silent Mobius Movie, but yeah, it Feldergarb.
I lived in Seattle, which is almost the same thing. Uncut Lexx and a whole provence {Québec} full of frenchmen does tend to cut down on the prissy moralism of the broadcast stations like we got here.
Hollywood is out of ideas, to borrow a phrase from Fark. Even if he's just trying to head off nitpicking from critics the previews I've seen are rather lackluster. DUNE sucked, and the killed off Farscape. Beyond that the SciFi Channel needs to get over it's fear of Anime. I realize they are trying not to swamp the channel with Animated (but really cool) stuff and turn into a Cartoon Network knockoff. However if they keep trotting out RICHARD GRIECO someone will step in and take their nitch.
As far as I've seen Desktop buyers almost routinely build their own. Even non-'IT professionals' are building them. I don't know many people building laptops for fun.
I've noticed a lot of SimCity'ism in America's local governments over the years. 'Let's build a stadium to attact tourist' etc. For lack of an intellegent solution or really thinking about problems they resort to a 'Keep building' approch. I am certain there is a Modified copy of SimCity running even as we speak. It's a multi-player game online with players like, Dick 'the Trick' Cheney, and the execs at Haliburton. It only works then the city is virtual.
would make a great weapon but the trick was aiming it.
Go Look it up, that's your test for today.

Well your right, of course. Considering this is slashdot your would think I was a IT guy? Since I can take the price off my taxes well.....

Actually, I am not THAT www.k-lite.tk_Kazaa_Lite@kazaa. It's a standard default.
How is that for an answer?
They will need that too, plus your yearly income.

Watch it be spread sooo thin, you can't even get a happy meal with it.

Tech TV's Anime Unleashed is trying really hard and getting out the Channel for IT Nerds image.
The SciFi Channel is fast becoming 'The place bad programing goes to die'
So does this mean when it's up for renewal next, i could get it? I been eyeing mit.edu for quite a while now.
I like to use Buzz word bingo to select the next victim. Today "Beowulf cluster" is an instant critical hit.
Or try These

Of course SCO Linux users won't be sued. There are too few to make it worth while.
