Or install Kaffeine and make it the default media player for all video and just plain click the links and it plays (you need kaffeine mozilla plugin too). Very easy. And lets you save streams.
My words exactly:) I've used some form of Linux since 1996 and have settled into it 100% from 1998 on. I'm just shocked that most people lack the mental capacity to handle the transition. But I give props to those who tried and failed. I could have easily been the same way since it was an early Slackware (which came on a shareware cd I picked up at a computer show:). That was a lot harder to install than say.... RedHat or Mandrake or Debian.
But I know Linux is ready for the desktop. IF IT COMES PRE-INSTALLED. I've installed it for my uncles and parents. They all use it exclusively now. And we share a laugh when there neighbors complain about the computer being down because of some virus.
Replace understanding the issues with "agreeing with my views" and government hand-outs with "services I want to get rid of because thats solely my view" and you pretty much have your true Fox News message in plain unfancy Bushfree-speak english:-)
Actually, I use OGG on my Karma, so I guess it has caught on with me who have used mp3's since Franny's encoder was released.
Since I rip all my cd's anyway, its no big deal switching. I'm sure filesharing services have plenty of ogg's for others.
I don't understand why people say "never going to happen" like they have a crystal ball that doesn't see change:) It's happening buddy. Sorry you can't see it.
Dynamic Playlist building - yes. gapless - yes (and even a little mp3 gapless in new firmware) not sure on the non-western chars, but the new firm supports multiple languages, so possibly. Not sure about bitrates that low on ogg.
Karma is very very cool. I use to own Rio 500 and Archos 20 gig (with Rockbox on it) and this is by far my best mp3 player.
I have a hoop in the backyard and shoot a lot of basketball with my off time. Plus hawk over statistics like crazy, and get a little extra money when I tell someone that the Spurs will win it all (before the season started).
Other then that, watch a little anime, and a little sci-fi, Simpsons, etc. And curse Fox for getting rid of Family Guy.
Hanging with friends and watching 1 race RC's is relaxing as well.
Or the dark side... Drinking at a bar with co-workers until I forget how to power on a computer:-P
The problems with people are that they can't argue points, they must attack a group of like minded people and put them down.
This goes to both "left" and "right" sides.
Instead of disagreeing, you act as if it is a life and death situation and call people school yard names. Funny, but immature.
I wish people would take each article of debate as an article of debate instead of "left" or "right" issue, since I feel, besides a small percent of political zeolots, most people couldn't care about "left" or "right" and just a decisive conclusion to the problem at hand.
I'm glad you like FreeBSD, but you essentially get that with any distribution as long as you stick with the kernel/apps they include.
Debian, for instance, lets you apt-get to what WORKS.
But hey, I don't need XFS when I have EXT3, and I didn't really need EXT3 to begin with, it's just nice to have.
FreeBSD is a distribution. It has a kernel and native apps. Thats essentially what you get with ANY Linux distrib. If you go off course with FreeBSD, you encounter the same problem that you do with Linux.
I prefer my code open, others can do whatever they want, as long as they don't go DMCA and postal:)
I want freedom... Free Software! As long as there is an alternative that is free (as in freedom) all is well.
Windows has its alternative (Linux, FreeBSD, etc) so all is well. I couldn't care how many problems Windows has, I have all the functionality I need (and WINE exists). Just wish the Blizzard series ran under WINE.
But you are correct, insulting masses is a good way to get happiness raised. +1 for you!
I had nothing to do with it! It was Microsoft(TM)'s servers that are having problems. It seems like everyone points the finger at CodeRed, when all I'm guilty of is lurking on Slashdot and posting useless messages over and over.
Please refrain from blaming me for every little thing. Yes, I'm the reason the net is slowing, yes my cousins [2,3] are good at what they do, but isn't it time we point the finger at security issues of other OS's instead of the usual suspects??
And I am no relation to SirCam, I just respect his work!
Added this earlier today to Akregator.
Hopefully more kernel developers jump aboard, but so far so good.
2004 was a year for gaming creativity. Just look at Doom 3, UT 2004, HalfLife2, ... New ideas all around.
If they would have properly managed their systems, none of this would have happened.
Ahh the good old days. Now when voice recognition hits its peak, will games understand swear words like this? Something to think about :)
I can imagine this:
I say: "F--king Conservitives"
Reply: "F--king liberals"

The "but they will want to censor more" argument can be proved. Remember, you MAY NOT be the biggest bible thumping nutcase out there.

And calling the republican party human doesn't make it so. Not if you say it a thousand times or so.

You can always use Google to convert the PDF to html :-)

Recommended gifts from admirers:
1) DIVX's of Hackers or The Net.
2) Natalie Portman... Enough said.
3) Port me to more platforms.
and finally.... a 2nd chance.
Finally, I can replace IE on Windows. Oh wait, I don't use Windows. Think I'll stick with Konqueror.
WHAT???
:-P
Hmm what can be done: Nuke them, nuke us.
Lets see.... outcome.... We dead, they dead.
Yes, thats just great, and those who survive get to live in a radiated world.
Time for you to watch a movie called "War Games" again
With KMail, I used this to fix it:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libpng.so.2
kmail &
Give that a try til the probs get fixed for real!
This just must be illegal!
Kind of like chewing a pencil. That was not the intent of the maker, therefore reverse engineering the wood is a violation of the DMCA as well?
I give this a week before you hear about DMCA implications.

Thank you,
CodeRed [The low user #]
I have been here a while my friend.
I think for my next amazing trick, I'll send a bit of news about Code Red from CodeRed.
Yeah, I was hoping someone would see that and laugh :) This is my old nick, but I've used it since the BBS days (about 93 and on).
Errrr.... More things named in my honor... This can't be good!
:-P
If worms start popping up with Linux4Green (my ICQ nick) then I know I'm bad luck.
