It's a disposable car. Use it ten years, throw it away and get another. I'm at 16 years on one vehicle and 13 on the other. I have an old truck that's a '77 but I don't drive it much as it's an old style 4X4 that's really better offroad than on.
What kind of drivel are you spouting? It's not like you know anything about history. 250 years ago the'd have hung the bastard for sure. No one likes a traitor who runs off to another country to spread animosity for his homeland. If he'd gone to the Times or something I'd call him a whistleblower. Going to China and then Putin? We need to hang his sorry ass.
I spent 3 years in Germany from 85-88. Great beer and I drank many different varieties. I've had Czech beer also, in fact the best beer I ever had was from the Czech Republic. I mostly drank a german beer called Muenster Brau or some such. I used to get a case or so delivered to my door every week where I lived near Mainz. It came in a brown heavy bottle with a white flip top. The wines there were off the chain as well. I enjoyed many a winefest. Man I enjoyed those 3 years, I highly recommend Germany to anyone. Lots of history and really nice people. Clean and beautiful and some great food. So you see I speak from experience.
You ignore the fact that he can be held criminally liable. Let a skyscraper fall and you're talking casualties in the 5 digit range. There is no way to stop that avalanche of outrage. In fact, I'd be surprised if the engineer didn't have to be taken into protective custody for his own safety. The people responsible for building safety will catch hell too. Catastrophic destruction gets catastrophic response.
Even though I know you are right I find it difficult to not hand out money. I see these people and almost invariably I end up giving them 5 bucks. It's not much to me and they seem happy to get it.
There I fully agree. In fact I lay the blame for all this crazy bullshit on Congress. They write crazy laws that are then pursued with abandon by a crazy legal system.
People fail to understand. The legal system is not about right or wrong. That's where they get lost, it's about legality. The rules are more important than anything else. This is why lawyers are almost universally hated. To normal people it's about what's right but in the courts it's about what's legal.
How about a class action lawsuit. Essentially they violated the 4th amendment rights of every single customer of this company. That should at least make the lawyers happy.
I fully believe if the software in question had been proprietary then the bug would have gone unreported longer and we'd still be looking for a patch 3 years from now. This is generally how things are done in the proprietary world. In fact if anyone had shown proof of the bug with an exploit they'd likely have been sued or prosecuted.
I'd bet that Nissan will be building a battery factory too.

2 miles? I walk that from the parking lot to the hangar where I work. Why would you need a vehicle? Maybe a bycycle.

The fourth amendment covers "unreasonable" search and seizure. What's reasonable is decided by the courts, not traitors like Snowden.

Fuck him. He's a traitor and I hope they bring his ass home and hang him.
Piss is a step up from Budwieser.
I imagine they at least run it through a filter before it hits the pipes.
I damn sure don't want any piss in my facets. That's even worse than piss coming through my faucets.
Does Portland even have conservatives? Surely not in Portland anyway.
Well water in my area is awesome. Some places I've been it had a nasty taste to it but it really depends on the area.
Imagine what they'd have thought of a chemistry set from the 50's! Oh man, they'd shit bricks.
This is one of the more insightful and reasoned comments I've read on /. in a long while. Sadly I have no mod points.
I always thought Windows OS was their favorite vulnerability?
Only 114 dead. Compared to a falling skyscraper it's nothing. Bad but not bad enough to generate the hysteria neccessary for a lynching.

Sadly that's windows only. Looks like a nice project though.
Okay, that's really pretty good. I inform you ahead of time I intend to plagiarize.
It's open source, I can feel the fork coming.
