Interesting. Sadam didn't use chemical agents on them, that was the US? You sound as if you believe that. In any case Iran's preferred method of attack is by use of terrorism which they have been funneling through Syria. It's not any secret, everyone is aware of it. I can understand it, when you don't have the power for a stand up fight you use an oblique approach. It's starting to wear on the US and Israel and I think the use of gas is going to serve as an excuse to put a crimp in the Syrian-Iranian partnership.
I agree. It's difficult to believe they really think they can intimidate these guys. The one running Iran is crazy and the one in Syria is desperate. They aren't going to be put off by a missile test. Of course it's possible Israel is just trying to iron out the kinks in the system in preperation for the shit that is about to hit the fan. I think that a strike is almost inevitable at this point.
It's a monopoly. You just raise the rate. It's done all the time. Power companies are the safest investment ever. They don't make incredible profit but it's super stable.
I think there is a simple solution for this. All phones sold should have a written disclaimer stamped on the case that reads "All calls are monitored for possible criminal activity and any other reason the authorities may deem necessary." I can't believe anyone thinks there is any privacy left on any public communications system.
How in hell does a power generation facility lose money? Is that even possible? You generate power and sell it at a rate that guarantees a profit. Where is the risk?
Sherman understood this which is why he and his army burned, raped and looted through Georgia. He intended to drive home the message that "war is hell" to the people who supported and provided the opposing army with supplies. To hear people whine today about the unintentional collateral damage occurring is perplexing. War is hell and the end result is death and devastation. It is best to avoid war if at all possible and if not then do whatever it takes to win. After all, the winners get to write the history books.
Which makes me wonder, could this be used as a weapon as well? Why not design it so the beam can be focused and used as a death ray? This will enable DOD funding which should bring it into production ASAP. A dual purpose device for power generation or weapon of mass destruction.
History is filled with superior products that failed in the marketplace. I've looked at and tried both the Kindle and the Nook and if I had to choose one of the two it would be the Nook. I really have no need for a 7" tablet though so I passed. I think Amazon's marketing is simply much stronger than B&N's. Most people that buy either a Nook or Kindle tablet seem happy enough with it so I don't think there is that much to choose between the two, for me it was the SD slot that made me like the Nook better but a lot of people don't care about that.
Agreed. Nothing like sitting in traffic in a Mustang with a 302 Coyote engine. A piece of shit like this is just the thing for the stop and go commute where 35MPH is almost non-attainable. Not to mention the parking lot where I get fender rubs and door dings weekly.
Corporations sometimes deserve the blame. They don't do enough to train employees is the number one problem with companies. Often they don't demand compliance by employees. Supervisors are under pressure to produce so if they notice employees taking chances to speed things up they often ignore violations. Still most companies are sensitive to workman's comp. claims and OSHA fines. It's cheaper to do things right than to have to clean up accidents and pay medical bills. Most management has been brought to understand the real bottom line. I do know that many of my coworkers get annoyed by what they consider unnecessary safety regs that hinder them from performing tasks and moving on quickly. To have to climb to the ground and take the time to shut off equipment is annoying when you're in a hurry and just want to get finished with an annoying problem. It's important to have the kind of safety climate in place to get people to go the extra distance to be safe.
I agree that happens but in my experience the number one problem is people get complacent. I've come close a couple of times to falling off stands and both times it was simply complacency. You do something long enough and you loose respect for how quickly you can get hurt or die. I've seen people do some of the stupidest stuff too. Many are just plain careless. If anything I'm shocked the number isn't higher.
Because it's controversial and will generate tons of responses and lots of flaming. I don't care what he calls him/herself. It's Jerry Springer stuff and there is enough of that crap on TV so we sure as shit could do without it on a supposed techno/geek site.
I've actually been to a few of them. Spain was especially nice. I really liked the people there. Germany was much the same. It's not people that are the problem though, it's their governments. People give the government too much power then wonder why it turns around and eats them. You can't trust a government which is why strict controls must be maintained so they don't get out of hand. A crazy attack like 911 and all of the sudden in the ensuing panic the chains that keep the beast under control are cut loose.
The best thing about it will be people who want to live off the grid back in the back side of nowhere. One of these and a Sat dish and you can stay connected while being far, far away.
Khamenei, the real power.

Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it too. I can't blame the Chinese here, if I was buying the plant I'd want to run it too.
Really. If I had to choose between the French and the Chinese I'm not sure which I'd pick.

Now that's "Real Genius" there.

It's a geeky kind of coolness.

The amazing thing is that it was pure sarcasm and got modded as insightful. Damn.

It looks like bribery of US officials isn't even a crime.
I was figuring on a road at least. I did see a house on HGTV today where a 30 minute boat ride is the only access to it.

It's an energy conversion device. It converts fuel to electricity.
I didn't see any for sale on that site.
