I remember how great the public transportation system was in Germany back in the 80's when I was stationed there. The buses ran so on time I could literally set my watch by them. It was safe and easy to get to work so I almost never drove my car to get there. The train system was the same. I never worried about getting robbed or knifed like I would in one of the cesspools that passes for a city in the US.
I watch HGTV sometimes with my wife and they show real estates shows about areas like SF a lot. I was blown away by house prices. Dumps that would sell for 60K here they ooh and ahh about how they're only half a million dollars or so. I can't conceive prices like that. How in hell can someone making 60 or 80 thousand a year afford to live there?
Exactly. The government is addicted to money. The more they get the more they squander. The public debt is going out of sight and people bitch because companies offer their employees the perk of private transport.
It's a tale of 2 macbooks. My early 2008 wont upgrade past Lion. My late 2008 macbook will upgrade to Mavericks. Both have Core2Duo 2.4ghz processors. There is no real reason that the early 2008 model can't run Mavericks but that is Apple for you. It's off to ebay for it while it still can run most modern software. In another year or two it'll be Mountain Lion or better for everything new. The latest version of Peppermint Four installed and runs fine on my Aspire One. It actually seems faster than Peppermint Three was.
It's ridiculously easy to upgrade the Mac Pro's to Linux. No need to worry about what Apple's floundering bunch of Steve Jobs wannabees do from then on.
Well there are two major political mafias. That makes two sides. Most media outlets support either one or the other. There are some fringe groups who can't pull enough votes to matter to the media.
I listen to NBC and get all the leftie info then tune in FOX and get the right's viewpoint. It makes the news interesting when you see it from both sides.
Oh, you mean prepare for a global disaster that might happen tomorrow or maybe 50 years from now? While I continue to live an existence where I go from payday to payday trying to figure out how to pay my bills? Face it, if this thing goes like the most pessimistic of these guys think then I'm dead. I can sit here and shit my pants over it or I can continue to live my life and enjoy it as much as possible while I have it. People that rant over stuff like this must have wonderful lives with no other worries.
Well that's one solution. You could start a nuclear war, kill off about 5 billion or so people and the nuclear winter should leave maybe 1 million or so survivors who will exist for centuries in a new stone age. That might stop global warming. Good luck with the Prius though. That's like spitting in the ocean.
I worry about things about as much as I have control over them. Things like this I have Zero control so I have Zero worries. About the same I worry about a comet impacting the planet. It might happen and there is nothing I can do. Why worry?
Why would the Chinese want to nuke one of their largest and most profitable markets? Especially one that is armed to the teeth. They can't do shit about Japan because the US supports them and really if Japan decides to gear up they could most likely hold their own. The last time they tangled with China the Chinese didn't fare too well. The best thing the Chinese can do is keep making money. Why fight people when you can buy them?
And some tranks.
Don't hold back man. Tell us how you really feel.
I'll bring the rope.

The rotten bastards! How dare they?
It would be interesting to see who sto....uh....where the money went.

I don't see it. Horse breeding is not Horse cloning. Bad idea. Very bad. I can't even fathom the idea that they can force them to take cloned animals.
It takes 4 of them to make an entire horse.
Look at the bright side. Now the gangs can get back to killing each other without hindrance by the cops. Sounds like Win-Win to me

It's more like "circle the bowl."
Truly so. I look for a revisionist remake of Moby Dick somewhere in the near future to replace the 1956 Gregory Peck version.

Those prices look damn good. You like the service.
I like that idea. I don't understand why banks aren't doing this.

Sounds like a quote from Moby Dick to me.

My money is on Spain.
