MicroSoft would never stoop to such a dirty trick. They have a long history of being open and above board in all business dealings. Just look how well they've treated the open source community over the years.

Yes...I know. The truth hurts. No one likes to admit there isn't a single unbiased source of news anymore. I think I quit taking network news seriously when Cronkite retired. It's been spin city ever since. Now the conservatives badmouth the mainstream media and liberals badmouth Fox and talk radio. Funny thing is they are both usually correct. They never see the bias on their side though. If you point it out you're a troll. Ah well....I generally feel good about myself when both sides think I agree with the other side. Liberals think I'm conservative and conservatives think I'm liberal. Frankly I don't give a rats ass. A plague on both their houses.

OH come now. I readily admit Fox is heavily conservative....after all their is always room for an opposing viewpoint. The liberals have NBC, CBS, ABC and most of CNN. The conservatives have Fox...fair enough. But truly while Fox puts it's own spin on the news they don't "create" news or tell outright lies. Unlike CBS and NBC....well, I take back that about CBS, Dan Rather retired so they went up about 100 notches now. Yeah, Beck's kooky and preachy and Hannity foams at the mouth from time to time but O'reilly really just likes poking fun at the libs. It's a fun network. I doubt they'll be coming to her rescue though.

There's a reason that gas cars are cheaper. The oil companies are not stupid. They know the price point at which alternative fuels become competitive with gas and they keep the price a little below that. The price of oil is not high enough for anything else to compete....and it'll stay that way barring government interference. It's good for oil companies, they're rolling in the dough. It's good for consumers, gas is cheap and plentiful. It's good for politicians, their voters are happy with them. When glitches happen to the fuel supply and price drives high then all sorts of alternative power supply comes out of the woodwork. The price never stays high for long though. No one wants expensive fuel.

Nuking of two cities was truly brutal. A full scale invasion of Japan would have most likely have destroyed it totally. Even then, compared to how the military government of Japan treated civilians, most notably the Chinese, it was kind. A few hundred thousand dead instead of a few million. Ultimately war is bad. Losing a war is worse. My own State fought a losing war against the USA in the 1860's as part of the Confederacy. After years of brutal warfare costing the lives of more Americans than any other in it's history and two decades of "reconstruction" the scars are mostly gone. I still remember the bitterness my grand parents held. The moral? Try to avoid war. If you can't, then win it at all costs. Lose and you're fucked.
