Figure something like five thousand dollars per hour for fuel...if you stay out of afterburner. Maintenance for a jet fighter is going to be intensive too. But...if you've got 5 mil that you can spend to buy a toy then another half mil or so a year to operate it shouldn't be a problem. I'd be sure to let the Air Force know about any flight plan....some of those Air National Guard pilots might have a flashback when they see it.:)
Leaving terminology behind, I'm suprised a huge corporation that drips money like Micro.....soft can't keep up with bug fixes on their browser. Firefox manages to keep it's product patched and their funding is much more limited. As a user of OSS I tend to be tolerant of bugs since I pay very little other than the occasional donation to the people that produce it. If, on the other hand, I had shelled out a bunch of cash to a certain software company in Redmond and I got hit by something like this I'd be LIVID. I mean ranting mad. It is inexcusable. Why do people put up with such sorry, buggy software that they PAID for? They actually make excuses for these guys. Unbelievable.
Nah...I'm not trolling. I'm absolutely serious. It sucks to pay good money for something that performs so poorly.
heh...what's wrong with spelling it Micro$oft? I've been doing it that way for so long, since 1992 on Bulletin Board Systems and Fidonet, that I don't really even think about it anymore. You must be one of the shills I was talking about. Stay anonymous...coward.
It's a fact jack. Sea levels are due to rise several inches over the next few decades. The average rise for the last 100 years has been 1.8mm per year. Get ready for waterworld.
Troll? Isn't "WHY don't they patch it allready" a valid question? Micro$oft has a history of not patching well known security holes, it's not like this is the first time. They deserve the scorn I heaped on them. It's one thing to sell buggy software. It's another thing entirely to ignore full blown exploits like this. Call me troll if you like but I'm right and I think that's what pisses off the M$ shills the most.
You may be correct, I can't say since I haven't used Windoze for anything to do with the internet in a long time. I do wonder though, why don't they just patch the damn thing? I mean really. They know a lot of people are getting infected, don't they give a shit? Ah...my bad. This is Micro$oft we're talking about here.
I swear that game made me buy a commodore 64 just to play it. I saw it on a friends C64 and bought one a week later with a 1541 disk drive and the games Zork and F15 Strike Eagle. I lost more sleep wandering around the rooms in that house. I doubt the name has any real meaning, just more of the same bizarreness of the game.
The fact is that in a large organization mistakes WILL be made. It happens, things are overlooked and with no actual intention to infringe you can still be in violation. You will still be penalized. I'd like to know how many times the BSA invade a company and don't find any violations. I'd bet it almost never happens.
Been there have you? I can see owning a few windoze boxen if you needed an app that was windoze specific. I think the point made by Ernie Ball was that for most of what was being done there was no need for proprietary software. Why pay the huge outlay of cash for a box that is only used to do word processing?
I'm thinking it's because you agreed to their right to audit you when you purchased the licenses. Nobody except for lawyers ever read those EULA's it seems.
Most of that is very true. The amiga's memory management was the biggest problem and they did tend to crash if you had badly programmed apps. In general use however it crashed far less than win95 and even less than 98. It wasn't until win2000 that I saw a microsoft operating system that I actually considered superior to the amiga. Unforunately the hardware couldn't keep up after the death of CBM.
I hung on until 1999 but the hardware was just too outdated by then. I went linux as I was disgusted with windoze at work and OS 9 on the Mac was garbage. I still have several amigas around for nostalgia.
You missed that word "mostly" and no mention of "all." I'm deeply religious but I fully support the right of people to disagree with me. I also support the seperation of church and state. I have a problem though when people accuse religion with the downfall of education in the US as that's flatly wrong. Yeah..most of the founders of this country were deeply religious. Interestingly enough Jefferson did appreciate parts of the Bible. His "rewrite" is basically just an edit.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Jefferson Bible, or The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth as it is formally titled, was Thomas Jefferson's effort to extract the doctrine of Jesus by removing sections of the New Testament containing supernatural aspects as well as perceived misinterpretations he believed had been added by the Four Evangelists.[1][2]
Ah...nice way to twist my words. I'm simply saying the religious nuts aren't in charge anymore so what's the problem? You want to continue to blame your problems on reigion? Move on, what's the real problem genious?
damn....what is that shit you've been snorting?
Watch out for culture shock. That's like leaving a freezer and jumping in boiling water.
Good point. Propaganda should be free. No way I want to pay for that.
The only version of the Times I liked was the print version. It was good for lining bird cages and wrapping fish.
If you're worried about fuel usage get an F22. Supersonic cruise really helps the mileage.

Hmm....reminds me of the movie Pitch Black. I wonder if the writers ever played Zork?

I must be doing something wrong, I can't get Kdenlive to crash. Cinelarra did crash on me a couple of times.
Individuals have power only when they act as a group.

Maybe, but then they're limited by what the court has stated they can do. If you voluntarily allow them access then the sky is the limit.

It's a labor of love. The amiga was so much fun to use back when all other computers were boring junk. It took me until '99 to move on.

heheh...cute. Another brilliant demonstration of logic.
