There is some truth to your statement. In fact capitalism is regulated to mitigate it's harmful effects somewhat. Runaway capitalism can be as bad as runaway socialism. Both systems have their good and bad sides.
I suspect that going into detail about a backdoor system put into place by the government would be hazardous to his freedom. I'd bet the details are classified.
I'm sure Al's mansion has solar panels on it. I bet his SUV runs on biofuel. And he needs that jet so he can spread his message faster, thus saving us all.
Yes...there it goes. I didn't even have to dispute global warming at all. Just mention something that is less than fully supportive and I'm labeled troll. All the global warming zealots out there that attack vehemently anyone that dares say they aren't fully convinced about the subject should be happy. They are the reason for the backlash in the media. Scorning and attacking with foaming mouths anyone who dares to mention that politics is involved at all in the global warming issue doesn't make the undecided think you're right. It makes them think you're crazy. Call me troll...I don' t give a shit you are your own worst enemies.
Interesting article. They mention a 3 foot rise in sea level by 2100. I read the report by the IPCC and they state a rise somewhere between 7 and 82 centimeters. That's part of the problem with credibility right there. The IPCC report is solid science but the NRDC report you linked to takes those facts and picks through them to accentuate the points they want to make. I'm not a scientist but I know that global warming appears to be real. How great and how sudden the effect will be seems to be the question. Al Gore and others using it as a political agenda have caused the skepticism by trying to shock people with the most extreme possible cases. This, when people discover the facts for themselves, can't help but have a backlash effect.
It took four years because global warming is a hot political issue. Anything that doesn't support imminent disaster is heaped with scorn. I don't know if the earth is heating up or not. I'm not a scientist. I do know that a huge number of the people running around screaming about global warming aren't scientists either. It's too bad that there can't be a quiet, sensible discussion on the subject thanks to all the political baggage.
It's a shame Saddam had to kill so many hundreds of thousands to accomplish the good things that he did. I don't know how the Iraqi's feel about it but if we had one like him here I'd want to put a bullet in his head.
I think some dictators do good things because they think of the country as a possession. They own it, it's theirs and they want to fix it up nice.
They? Who is they? The thugs that roam the streets preying on the helpless? The gangs? Yeh...there I would agree with you. But that's not what AC was saying...he was spewing racial crap. And yeah it's his right to post AC...and it's my right to dog him out for his cowardness and bigotry. I've been watching CNN and Fox coverage and they both show the same things. Hopelessness and despair and courage and bravery. It runs the gamut. You never know how you'll respond until you've been there. It's sad that you lock onto the actions of the thugs and ignore the rest of what is going on there.
That's an interesting statement. Do you think that the majority of the people in Iraq would prefer to be back under Saddam's rule?
I know things aren't great there at the moment but it's not like life was ideal before.
And yet I prefer them to anonymous bigots. People that hide behind the title "anonymous" while they try to degrade an entire people based on what a few idiots have done are despicable. The depths of my contempt for such filth as you is incalculable. Stay anonymous.....coward.
Geez! That just drips with sanctimoniousness. I Don't say it's right or wrong to pirate software. I just say that it is. It happens...it's happening. The problem with a free alternative to windows is that one already exists called....windows. I personally wish that it was impossible to pirate windows...I wish everyone had to pay through the nose for it. That would enable alternatives to gain market share. I think that Microsoft winks at piracy, small scale anyway, because it helps keep things like linux at bay. Regardless though, piracy is happening and an incredible number of computers are running an illegal installment of XP. This is what ReactOS and Wine compete against. If people want to run windows software it's easier to do it on windows and because of the ready availability of illegal torrents there's no need for them to pay for it. Nobody has to agree with piracy....it doesn't matter whether you or I agree or not, it's reality.
I just don't see much interest in a reimplementation of 32 bit windows. XP is so common on torrent trackers it's practically free. Why bother with something that tries to implement windows API's when you can have the real thing with no effort at all?
You know, I kind of agree with you. He was an idiot. However, so are the police. I can see them coming in and arresting him and questioning him for hours. They have a responsibility to the public and the law after all. After hours grilling the guy they should have realized two things. One:He was not a terrorist, just an idiot who thinks threats to blow up the airport are funny. Two:He was no threat to anyone but himself and was now scared shit less and will never do such an idiotic thing again. That should have been the end of it. Once they kept up with the process as if he really is a terrorist...now they are idiots too.
Mac users should install VLC. I just upgraded vlc on my ibook G4 and the latest (leopard or above only) version of vlc made files play smoothly on my system that were choppy with vlc before and wouldn't play in anything else.

That's not by accident. That's planned that way.
Really now. If what these guys are saying is true and any cells can be reprogrammed. What's the big benefit of harvesting embryo's?
Try Cisco...they made number 16.

hehe...it wont be from global warming. It's those damn Quarter pounders with cheese that are gonna get me. :)
heh...I'd guess that we'd die.

Well hell...I was using the layman's definition of a corp. By the rules of the IRS I guess they are a corporation. I stand corrected genius.
The NRA isn't a corporation. It's an alliance of gun owners consisting of over 4 million members. They have money and 4 million people who vote.
Heh, I got his point. You, genius, missed mine. Have a nice day.

Have you ever had a look on piratebay?
I can see why some geeks would want to do it. I can't see why anyone else would care about it.

How experienced do you need to be to use handbrake? For crying out loud, if you can't tie your shoes you don' t need to try and convert video files.
