Generally someone actually considered a threat would be denied bail period. Since he's not really a threat but has embarrassed the idiots running SF they simply made the bail ridiculously high.
Who, after all, knows more about theft than the Feds? They've taken billions of dollars of tax money and given it to all sorts of our corporate overlords.
To allow someone else to utilize this information diminishes the power of the New York MTA. It's really all about control. The more ignorant people are the better off the government and corporations are.
Too bad most people choose to be ignorant.
That's what I use my old iBook for. It's powerful enough to do mobile computing without a problem and gets great battery life but it's old and I don't worry too much about it. I'd hate the thought of having to worry about where my $3000 computer was. It's got a 12 inch screen which is about the biggest I'd want to lug around. I've thought about getting a netbook but really they don't have any more power than the old G4.
I don't think Microsoft is capable of competing without cheating. Their whole purpose with IE is to tie people to the OS. If they have to build a standards compliant browser then it defeats their purpose in having a browser in the first place. The entire point of "joining" the HTML5 process is to find a way to do the 3 E's. Embrace, Extend, Extinguish.
Because it's Verizon?
The only nice thing I can think of to say about Verizon is they aren't AT&T.
I wonder why we can't have a decent wireless provider in the US. Must they all suck. Except for AT&T who swallow.
The fact is their is plenty of distrust and hatred for Micro$oft in the Linux/FOSS world. God knows they earned every little bit of it. The fact is that Negroponte knew the FOSS guys in camp weren't going to be happy when MS was brought on board. If he wanted an MS system he should have built one...or pulled one off the shelf.
I can't say about your hardware there. But I've got 3 systems currently running linux. One fedora 11 one ubuntu 9.04 and another with xubuntu and not one of these has had a single system lockup. I've installed linux on many friends systems and none had problems with system crashes. Not all of them stuck with linux thanks to lack of support for software they wanted to run.....but none left because it was a buggy mess. Really the only problems I've had with linux in the last 3 years have been driver related....plenty of those however.
Apple does things their way. It works for them. It works for their users. The ones doing all the bitching are mostly just people that love to hate apple. I personally don't own an iPhone. I don't need a phone that's also a computer. I like seperate devices. But the people that I know that have an iPhone absolutely adore them. It's kind of disgusting.:)

He's an asshole. It's just that the judge and prosecutors are dickheads. It's a matter of who is more despicable.
In their eyes the network is more important that human life...certainly. Of course. I can't believe you would even question this.
Oh damn I have no mod points!!! You should be modded +10 insightful This is exactly what is happening. You are so dead on.
There ya go. Mentioning that pesky old Constitution thing. Don't you know no one pays any attention to that old document anymore?
More likely is that he's a sociopath.

I fondly remember killing thousands of passengers on my 64.
I believe this might actually be enough to get me to buy an iPhone.
I wonder what will happen when ARM starts to make more headway in netbooks? Maybe Intel will regret strong arming their customers?

Did you bother to read that muddled up mess before you hit submit? you really shouldn't post while you're under the influence.
I think anyone that looks at a corvette knows it's not alien technology.
ooooh! Where's my mod points?
The only problem with the iPhone...is apple. I swear I love everything about it...it's beautiful. If only apple would quit trying to kill it.
Well there's virtualization or Wine maybe.

maybe better than the alternative location...............
Congress is actually going to practice a little due diligence. How nice if they always did this.
