I'll plug the ChannelMaster DVR... uses your external HDD, so you can use that spare one pulled from your lappie when you converted to SSD. The program guide is optional (over your internet) but free, and no ongoing fees unlike Tivo, which was the dealbreaker for me.
Note very well: has some internet streaming options including Sling and Youtube, but you CANNOT record those, just the OTA TV.
How about trying to order a simple thing online, being forced to open an account, then getting spam to rate them, review them, survey and more spam exactly one year after they finally remove you from the email list.
Even worse with companies who send junk mail too after web orders...
It is fairly cheap to have an off-grid solar system if the battery stack can be low capacity. The problem is electric loads with high start currents, notably compressor motors in fridges/freezers, but likely washers, driers, dishwashers.
Variable frequency motor drives, as opposed to cheaper induction and universal motor drives would help here.
Lastly, the specific heat capacity of water is quite high, so unwanted solar electricity (off-grid) could be used for hot water through immersion heaters in water tank(s).
When my dad got the electric company to install service to his remote property, they had put up an extra pole and step-down transformer. They charged for this, over $10k, so more or less their cost.
Fair enough.
But the contract including giving them easement rights to any service they wanted to run across his land. He pointed out that this is unreasonable, they only need easement rights for electric service. It took a while, but he got the clause reduced to just electric service easement rights. It was also pretty clear that no-one had made a fuss about this rights grab before.
You say open-source, but will your organisation commit explicitly and non-retractably that ALL the code and hardware (including any ASIC HDL) will be published in a way that any individual can duplicate any design independently without agreeing to any contract, such as NDA?
The really small implants surely use an ASIC with embedded microcontroller, rather than an off the shelf discrete microcontroller and all the other stuff in the ASIC. In which case, the power consumption excuse for not running encryption (it needs too much processing horsepower) doesn't cut the mustard. Intel designed instructions to speed AES processing (AES-NI) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AES_instruction_set/. It's a design time, design cost issue, and sheer arseholiness for companies to claim that it can't be done when that's not true.
Everyone with a garden or window box can help by growing plants that pollinators feed on. Plenty of low water ones like verbena, yarrow, valerian, salvia... and attractive flowers.
The worst is astroturf which is a bio-graveyard for the sake of zero water usage, whereas there are many low-water choices.
...is a political definition, moves with the times. For example, in USA, it doesn't take much for criticism of Israel (the country, as opposed to the religion Judaism) to be painted anti-semitic, yet anti-Islam rhetoric is currently regarded more tolerantly.
So Equifax continues to provide credit scores even when the target has frozen it?
Froze mine in 2016. Just checked it, and it sure is a timestamp.
TAM for decent fruit/veg juice probably 90% western world.
SAM for this product considering initial outlay and consumables pricing... I doubt it's 1% of all households and businesses.
Actually USA, so couldn't use firearms as example to avoid diversion down the 2nd amendment side road, which is irrelevant to the point here.

Came here to make exactly that point.
Let's also ban kitchen knives because they have been used in horrifying acts of domestic abuse, and will continue to be used unless we act now!
Babs, are you a schoolteacher perchance?

Chex Systems, Equifax, Experian, Innovis and TransUnion are the main ones.
Don't forget Butch...
The gentleman has a history of pushing nuclear power beyond reason. Somewhat angry article about him:

Whaddabout your unambiguous declaration that I'm male?
Actually, for a random sample distribution, mode would be the average at the centre of the ordered sample distribution.
Good communication skills aren't as widespread amongst technical folk as I'd expect... hopefully my exposure is below-median.
OTOH, half of all software engineers are above average :)
A succint summary of issue and resolution. I'd hire you.
Non-profit doesn't mean charity in the Christian sense.
Goodwill's CEO took over $700k in compensation in 2015, and the eight execs below him took close to $200k each on average.

Hmm. Tivo suggest that you have to use their HDD for the Bolt....
That's pretty good. Current Bolt AIP costs $549.99, and you have to use their hard drive which effectly sets the lifetime of the unit.
But you are paying the Tivo recurring charge...

In which case, how does your business model work?

Data hoarders sell searches on their data sets, not the data set itself.
