Despite what people may like to hear, there are a lot of people like me who, if there's no DLC available when they beat the game, don't ever pick up the game later. Even a couple weeks after I beat the game is way too long. If it's not there, I'm not going to spend the time popping in games I consider over and done with 3 months after the fact just for a small snippet of DLC.
Question: Why is this article tagged "vaporware"? I'm starting to think Slashdot readers don't know what that means. How can something be vaporware that's been shipping since June?

Neat! An LCD screen *and* a battery life of 14 hours? Let me throw away my Kindle that I can use outside in the sun and that I have to charge once a month, and replace it with this bad boy. Because I will *gladly* pay $349 for a tablet instead of buying a $99 Kindle for a bunch of extra features that I don't want or won't use.
How well does the screen/font sizes work? I imagine that if I had the text at a font that was readable without holding the phone 4 inches from my face, I would have to change pages every 30 seconds.
How much power does the phone app use? For a 2-3 hour reading session, will I need to be tethered to a wall to keep my phone from dying?
How well does outdoor reading work? Is the text legible on a bright, sunny day?

You're thinking of Republicans, who publicly lynch any of their members who don't toe the party line. Get 10 Democrats in a room together, however, and you'll have 15 different options.
This is just another example of tech burning away the illusion of privacy. It isn't taking away privacy from people; it's just another graphic example of letting people see what kind of information that is and always has been freely available to anyone who wants it. Which is worse? Not knowing what people know about you or knowing very well what people can know about you? It might be scary for some, but I'll *always* choose the latter.
Wouldn't it be more cost effective for NASA to just use the upcoming SpaceX Merlin 2 engine? The design documents state that the Merlin 2 should provide 890 kN more thrust than the old F1 engine and should be much more efficient. Plus, the Merlin 2 has the benefit of being already in active development: SpaceX expects they'll have it ready for certification within 3 years.

That's right. Lethal force is allowed in Indiana for third parties who aren't directly involved in a situation. Followed by:

I see /. is in for another round of anti-Windows 8 sensationalism. Please read the Ars Technica article talking about this before commentating.
Not too excited about a new tablet. What I really want is a color e-ink Kindle. *sigh*
UEFI security architecture was designed by Intel, not Microsoft. Please, enough with the conspiracy theories.

In Soviet Russia, Czar Putin purges you. Wait... I did that wrong.

30% of the purchase price for a cover.
Which says more about the prices of Kindles than it does for covers. Average price for a Kindle cover is $20.
Why bother rolling the dice on a $90 refurb on eBay, when a brand new one from B&N is $99?
Why would you trust their TOS, when they can change it at a later date and disable your account if you refuse to the new terms? http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/xor0j/i_asked_steam_support_if_i_could_keep_playing_my/

Yes, they "conveniently" ignore a market that has not traceable sales.

Go Sounders! Oh, wait. *MSL*.
Boeing has privately done 0 launches. They developed hardware for NASA. NASA used the hardware.
Those launches are using SpaceX's rockets. NASA didn't fund any of that development.
Yep, you've completely misunderstood what this is. Feel free to RTFA. At least this one: http://www.nasa.gov/exploration/commercial/crew/ccicap-announcement.html
