the staypuft marshmallow man wasn't that bad... i mean, sure he was gonna destroy new york, but after the leveling of the city all the hobos would see that giant mouthwatering hunk of puffy sugar and would eventually save the day, or 3 days, depending on how long it takes to devour 3 tons of marshmallow. just think of it this way... 1000 hungry hobos + 1 giant marshmallow.
as a ex-employee of a movie store, i've learend that you shouldn't buy a DVD that's going to be in a series right away, sure it'll be great to be able to watch it and have it so soon, but after the box set comes out you'll punch yourself for buying all of them aready and not getting that cool looking box. So then your going to wonder if you should spend the extra however-many dollars to buy the box set jsut for that cool box, and after you do your gonna wonder if it was worth it jsut for the box, cus sure, the box is cool, but now you have 2 complete sets of the DVDs. on te plus side, you can lend out the old DVDs to friends but on the down side, your not gonna want to open the box set and see all the cool new stuff they have included with the box set cuz the new box look is just so spiffy, but then, on the other hand... you REALLY wanna see the cool new fetures, so you end up with a no longer spiffy looking new box set and a..... um... i forgot where i was going with this... anyways, just wait for the box set to come out cuz box sets are always better than getting the DVD's one by one. you get 2 things, a better deal and more stuff.
The fact that we have undermined a terrorist network and overturned a repressive government in weeks, with only a handful of American casualties, has transformed the way even Americans think of technology
I don't think technology has anything to do with the fact that there was only a handful of casualties. For the past few years America has been sending in specially trained platoons of rangers/green berrets/marines/(i forget what the airforce one was called) to fight. This way less man force is wasted on our side and more are killed on thiers. all technology has to do with any of this is in the form of comm devices. a recent movie can help proove this, "Black Hawk Down". How undermining a terrorist network or overturning a opressive government or loosing a handful of americans has any influence on how we think of technology is beyond me, the only things that have to do with these are military and politics. In my opinion, that sentence was pulled out of someone's ass.
i read about this theory half a year ago on everything2.com, it went more in depth to the buttered cat theory and also suggested many useages for the generated power.

if you think about it, Tim Burton was just trying to make us say what Charlton Heston said at the end of the original.
