    Patenting a method of doing something is fair enough, but patenting blanket ideas like this is crazy.

    I had to buy a new box as a pg database server recently..
    almost bought a dual opteron, but chickened out and went for a Xeon instead.

    the suse distro that supports it is still a bit shaky and i wanted to wait for some good bench results.

    maybe my next server will be 64bit.. :)

    This smells like the beginings of the semantic web approach to me..

    All devices should publish information about their capabilities using, for example, RDF.

    When you answer the phone, anything that has exposed a "volume control" property could be muted until the call ends.. I hope they plan on using better security than WEP for the wireless links though.. :)

    I used Ximian desktop for Gnome 1.3 a while ago, and it was quite pretty. I've tried many different WMs and what-not, and I still like KDE the best.

    Yeah so it uses more memory than most, but if you've got it, flaunt it.

    Seriously, has anyone written a script to auto-signup the same address for lots of postal spam?

    Perhaps there is a sourceforge project, or a module in CPAN?
