File Menu >> Permission >> select anything other then Unrestricted Access - which sounds like fear tactics to me - and this pops up "Information Rights Management (IRM) in Microsoft Office 2003 helps prevent sensitive documents and e-mail messages from being forwarded, edited or copied by unauthorized people.
To use IRM you need to install the Windows Rights Management client. If you have an existing version.....bla bla bla....Do you want to download the latest version now?
Yes | No
I don't like this...and it just so happens that this menu command is not hidden away by default, like all the useful commands. Options >> Customize was my only option.
Just a side comment... it's pretty sad when your teachers PHOTOCOPY entire textbooks and sell them through the department for 1/6th of the purchase price! You can't tell me that it costs $130 to make a standard textbook that's "revised" every year to force upgrading.....hmmm sounds like microsoft got the idea from someone else
The real irony is that if you disable the "genuine advantage" active-x control, windows updates no problem...hahaha
same problem...fixed it by uninstalling intel application accelerator, weird shit.
ummm, yea
ummmm....
You need this installed to view protected documents even if you DO have Office 2003 installed....
But, you're right, they'll probably change that for the general public release.
