  1. Market (Hype) Yourself Relentlessly on Moving Up the IT Ladder in a Poor Economy? · · Score: 1

As a previous post mentioned, network. When you are networking, market what you have done and what you are capable of relentlessly.

Did you watch The Apprentice? Market yourself like Trump. You didn't write a program, you wroted the best #$&^ing program ever. You solved the hardest problem in the history of mankind. Show enthusiasm. Make them believe everything you touch turns to gold.

  2. Use the 3 questions from this Lou Dobbs article on What Should a Documentary Filmmaker Ask About Offshoring? · · Score: 1

I believe in free trade, and I believe that American innovation will allow us to create new jobs. That being said I understand Americans' anger at outsourcing and their anxiety. I would suggest these 3 questions from an article by Lou Dobbs, a CNN anchor and managing editor, found in this CNN.com article.

"One: How many more jobs must we lose before they become concerned about our middle class and our strength as a consumer market? Two: When will the U.S. have to quit borrowing foreign capital to buy foreign goods that support European and Asian economies while driving us deeper into debt? Three: What jobs will our currently 15 million unemployed workers fill, where and when?"

  4. Two Tuners on the Scientific Atlanta box on Time Warner Cable NYC Begins DVR Distribution · · Score: 1

Cool, the SA box has two tuners. We're getting closer to my need for infinite tuners here. There are many times when more than two shows are playing at the same time that people want to record (think of the 6PM to 8PM time frame when FX is showing Buffy, your local stations are showing Simpsons or Seinfeld reruns, etc., etc.) Come on Scientific Atlanta engineers. Please give me the ability to record an infinite amount of shows at once. I mean, those 1s and 0s are getting sent to the box anyway, let me store them on the hard drive.

  5. Infinite Tuners on Cable Boxes With DVD, MP3, Networking · · Score: 2, Insightful
I'd just like one of these things with infinite (ok, maybe not infinite, but at least 4 or 5) tuners. I want to be able to record multiple shows at once, like when there is something that I want to watch on Fox, The WB and The History Channel all at the same time.

Don't all of those channels just get streamed to the cable box all at the same time as a series of 1s and 0s? It seems like it would be possible to make a machine that recorded all of those streams at the same time.
