I know there are ways to bypass registration, or one could just register, but that is a lot more painful than this post. Grandparent deserves the karma.
I don't know... but I do know the fellow who has the patent on viewing said data by means of a graphical or textual representation through a network consisting of interconnecting computational devices...
If you want sleek, mechanical, and sexy, get yourself a bash prompt.
On a more serious note, I like a gui that takes up little space, does everything needed, and is not distracting. Win 95 through 2000 seemed pretty good at that... but winamp is the best imho. This new thing has winxp sized bars and 1/2 95 buttons. Oh well... I will be running linux 3.2.48 on my 10 Ghz box by the time longhorn comes out.
perhaps they should also make all open WiFi routers illegal. Data will always find some way to get through, and the best thing to do is find those who abuse children, rather than sweeping them under the proverbial rug. Of course, then people get angry.
Voting is now a branch of game theory, where one must attempt to find the best possible outcome, rather than a method of expressing opinion. Complaints like this are what is needed to make a difference. I doubt that an issue like this would make an issue to the majority at a vote, but to those who care about freedom on the internet (or porn) it is important. Also, a precedent set in Texas could affect other areas. Speaking with votes won't make a difference, but communication like this will.
...Computer special effects are not used to add detail, but to reduce price, afaik. This way, a few modelers and skinners can put together a large amount of the cast, and significantly reduce the crew. Cheap motion capture, out of work animators... you got yourself a cheap movie.
Theory and practice are two seperate entities. How pure is the water? How high is the voltage? What is the metal's composition? How accuratly has everything been measured to?
In other words, "Science is accurate, the world is frequently innacurate."
lots of idiots on this board simply saying "RMS is teh l4m3 lololol." Most people seem not to have read the article. Sun is just doing what Apple did with Darwin, and "giving" the right to use Solaris code for Sun's (and Solaris users, yes) benifit, while preventing the code from being used elsewhere, and sailing under the open source flag. If they want to do that, fine, but I am glad to see RMS complain.
So when I update my display drivers for Duke Nukem Forever, I won't have to restart!
I would stop panicing.
And CowboyNeil helped create slashdot...
where did it all go wrong???!?
Market apeal, of course.
I am not disagreeing with you. However, it would be nice to see an example.
...but I would be happy to make her do the registration for me.
I say tell them to do something that actually matters, eg, ratify Kyoto. Then, maybe I would talk about DMCA.
