condorcet is similar in to IRV in only one way.
      * It uses the same ballot.

But mainly the counting is hugely different, IRV gets all the press in the election reform circles cause it is easier to understand. And it is at least better then Plurality (its hard not to be).

Condorcet method of counting will try to find the candidate that the majority of people can agree on.
It will find a compromise candidate, if you will.

your system of government has created this 2 party polerized state.
Its a winner take all system with no room to encurage the middle ground.
you need to move to a system that allows voters to come to a comprimise,
I would suggest getting rid of the office of president all togeather.
but if you must still have it use a ranked ballot of some sort.
Condorcet would be my first choice but honestly anything is better then your current system.

    ahh, yes More Secure.
one system I log into at work requires "strong passwords"
    ie
      * has to be very diffrent from your last 10 passwords
      * has to have special chars
      * has to change your password every 2 months.

the problem is I login to this system every 6 weeks.
so every! time need to login I
      1. Call the IT desk
      2. Ask them to reset my password
      3. They Email me my password.
      4. I login

When the password is reset there is no Idenification of me.
They simply assume that access to my work email is valid enough

By Increasing the level of security They have effectivly reduced the level of security to that of a seperate system (company email).

BTW: company email pollicy is change every 6 months, incrimenal is allowed.

    Question:
How many requests of Password resets do you get with your system?
What method of Password distribution do you use?
What method of verification do you use on reseting a password?

How does preventing this loophole become a "stretching" of the original intent?

I have a diffrent consept of the Intent of GPLv2.
I thought it was to allow you to know what was being executed on your machine (hardware or virtual).
so if I own and run a machine I should have a right to know what is happening to that machine. and I should be able to change it to make it do what I want, on my machine.

but if I comunicate with somebody elses machine (via network) I don't need to know what will be executed on there machine. I only would like to know the protocall being used. and what response should be expected for a given input.

now as for the "loophole" that GPLv3 covers. which is interaction of GPL code running on a DRM machine. which allows you to change the GPL but not to execute it on the machine after. I remain firmly undecided.

I see the potetial afront to my freedom
    however
I also see how this is maybe more of an issue of the hardware/machine licence.

I need to meditate on my belief structure much longer before I decide if I am for or against v3

    sorry for the rant....but...

I hate the term "free software" cause if I tell my mom I can install "free software" on her computer to save her the $500 MS Office fee. she thinks that the only reason this software is worthwhile is cause of its cost.
using the term "free" stupifies and blinds people to the real beniffits of "Libra/freedom" software.
it makes people believe that if then can get a "Freeware/shareware/warez" version of there current software, then there is no need to use libra/freedom software.
but there is, Free software to most people means $0. they won't ask further questions about the ambiguity of the english language, and what kind of free I mean.
I really think the FSF should go about a rebranding of "Free Software" into "Freedom Software" of "Libra Software".
cause damint my mom needs to upgrade her Windows ME, and I need to explain to her that just cause I can get $0 Warez of MS Office/Win XP.
does not mean that Linux/OpenOffice which are "Free" have no advantages...
