    ...spam companies just use this like their existing opt-out options, in which what your really doing is just verifying that yes, this email address does exist, and essentially just signing up to get more spam?

    Terry Pratchett has written some good SciFi books too, although he mainly writes fantasy. (My favorite SciFi book of his is Only You Can Save Mankind)

    Actually I think that by "fair" he ment that if the path that the light takes is th same length as the one we take. So if we take a shorter path by hopping through a wormhole, which connects one place in space-time to another, we would make our journey shorter and therefore be able to beat light.

    I think Einstein actually said, that given a fair race, light would always win. So theoretically, wormholes and warp drive is possible, because we would be making it an unfair race by taking a shortcut.

    This would be great to use as PDA memory, or maybe you could set up a home theater to stream audio off of it. Also, I imagine that this would be a good way to share files between a laptop and a desktop.

    I doubt it will work well, anyway. If you look at the answer to the fourth question on the Q&A page, it says:
    Media Center PCs running Windows XP Media Center Edition deliver the full power and functionality you expect from Windows XP.
    So it probably won't work well, if it'll work at all.
