So either SCO will be bought or sued out of existance. I bet SCO executives didn't count on that when they brought up all these charges against IBM. Thats poetic justice. Maybe now Novell will put up a bid on SCO.
linux is almost as bad as Windows. It has
set back the state of computing by 10 years
redoing what's already in BSD. Switch to FreeBSD
if you want a truly advanced OS with high-performance stable VM and filesystem.
BSDplug: Fatal IO error: client killed
kind of ironic coming from an anonymous poster. second, this is not a debate on which 'NIX OS is best/more stable, whatever you thought it was.
case in point, how many teenage female titanicites/older gay men/older love-lonely women do you know use linux?
sounds like a good way to introduce linux to all those poor windows/mac users out there... maybe our fellow open source enthusiasts are in the league with $ony? thats it! celine dion is the downfall of M$!!
i agree. if there's one thing we've learned from microsoft, it should be that microsoft sucks. but if there's a second thing, it should definitely be that just because one version of a program is newer doesn't mean that it is better, more stable, more secure, etc. forcing admins to run the newest software isn't the best way to ensure the security or stability of a program or server. and on the issue of allowing an install option for the admin to set an expiration date, how will this ensure anything? how can an admin make a wise decision on an expiration date for a program if he doesn't know exactly when a more stable, secure version is going to be available? the developers dont even know that much. things happen... delays cause late releases. are the admins supposed to tough it out if their software expires before the next release?
perl helps my love life. my boyfriend was a perl programmer long before i got into it, and for the longest time i'd go to him for help when i was just learning. it turned him on so much to hear me talk about perl, and even linux, that on several occasions he'd have to run out of the room and take care of his business before he could even answer my question! [this would only happen on those occasions when we weren't together. when we were, i'd be detained from my task also.] he still gives me these funny little looks when i start talking about my machine, programming, etc.
i realize this was just a funny april fools joke, but its kind of ironic that it really has relevance in my love life:-)

The movie and games are full of fake science, but can anyone explain to me why the zombies can not feed on each other but must consume creatures that are alive?
actually if i remember correctly, the zombies WERE alive, which further supports your point. why couldn't they eat each other? the virus they were infected with before "death" kept their bodies alive for months after "death." to paraphrase the movie, hair and fingernails still grow, cells still reproduce, the brain still has some of its basic instincts, etc, etc. yet another problem.
i was still scared to shit. yeah yeah.... its cuz i'm a GIIIRRRRLLLLL. god forbid:-)
i'm working in the music industry: i do recording and post-production, which is pretty much the entirety of the music industry before video, marketing and sales. right now, for work purposes, i do my work on MacOS, using programs like Logic. i'm very interested in moving my work to linux, if software and hardware exists. i haven't researched it much, i'm not in a position to do so. does anyone out there have experience in audio editing in linux? any recommendations on how to go about the process of switching over? hardware/ software issues?
Did anyone else notice that /. had MS Visual Studio .NET advertisements all over the front page this morning? Whats that about?
Who wants to volunteer to write one of those FUI ads to install Linux on all those poor fools' Windoze machines?
If you look at the code we believe has been copied in, it's not just a line or two, it's an entire section -- and in some cases, an entire program.
Yet still no explanations, examples, specifics, or proof.

Windows too stable? Nah. They were just punishing all of their users who ditched M$Office for OpenOffice.
i'm not sure whether i'm supposed to be laughing or not.
