Most of my IT side jobs stay within my field of work. I'm a network engineer for a software company, but on the side I develop web applications (php/perl w/ mysql) for various friends and family. It brings in some decent income. You might want to take a look at elance.com, but it's hard to grab any work off of there because a lot of foreign sources use that website. Find some webdesign friends that need some extra programming.

That's pretty odd how someone can just hijack a/16 like that. A/16 is a lot of IP addresses, not really easy to sort of overlook it. Usually something that big is already allocated by the users ISP and announce via BGP. I wonder how these guys were able to go behind the BGP allocations and announce it on there own. I know most ISP's won't allocate a block of IP addresses if it is already being advertised by another peer.

The company I work for, SmartConnect, Inc., specializes in Internet Video and Digital Surveillance. We have setup a city wide wireless network with cameras at parks and stop lights. We are a partner with Axis and could probably complete what you're looking for.
This is all BS, as a fellow Nevadan, I'm appalled at this decision. But, they way it goes, the Screw Nevada law is finally in effect. I don't really have any power to do anything except hope for the best. My theory is that if the Energy Dept. is going to store all there waste here, they need to pay up, and pay up good. New roads, higher education (if I'm correct, NV has low education), more govt. grants/scholarships, etc. We should see something then just getting screwed.
I'm mostly concerned about this because I do live in Las Vegas, and it's 75mi's from Yucca Mountain, but I could be wrong.
What is AG going to do now that all the gold members paid. My coworker paid $15 for the gold membership 3months ago, and he still has 3months left. I smell a large refund of many users coming on. AG is skrewd.
Just by looking at the title of this comment you would think 'That's a very interesting high school name'. I'm graduating advanced technologies academy high school monday. This discussion was close to me cause it sounds like something we would do at my school. ATECH is wired with fiber from room to room and on average 20computers a room. I wish they would open up late night gaming for us, but they havent. My coworker, also graduating from atech, talks about him playing Quake in his LAN class to test the LAN setup they just learned in class. I think the use of games in a LAN enviroment for learning is pretty interesting.
I agree with the Aeron. Everyone at my office uses them with no problems. I highly recommend the Aeron for daily use. -Dan
