Mod-up. It's a great article. SSP is a ways off from being economical viable for domestic/mass-consumer use, there are other applications (i.e. military) where the current cost/kWh is higher and SSP is more feasible in the short-term.
There's usually nothing wrong with the hardware, just the software/firmware. Trying using some third party firmware like DD-WRT on the WRT54G. YMMV, but I can't recall the last time I had to reboot mine.
Pardons (or amnesty) can be issued to persons who have not even been charged, much less convicted of a crime. So I wouldn't put much weight on Obama being able to do anything about this, should he win in November.
In most companies, they call that a Business Analyst. Understanding the requirements and translating them into specifications that developers use to build the actual product.
Although the role of assigning development activities is usually left up to a Project Manager who has responsibility for resource co-ordination, AND overall schedule & budget.
At Microsoft, the functional role of a lot of these managers, particularly Program & Product Managers, is closer to what would be called a Business Analyst in other companies. There is no one with a solid line reporting relationship to them, they simply 'manage' a specific subset of the overall product features.
I don't think $1 or $2 per show for non-niche shows is beyond reasonable. Consider that iTunes charges $1 per track. There is a lot more money that has to go into producing a popular television show than a hit single. In the final season of Friends, I believe each member of the main cast was being paid $1/million per episode. That's $6 million just in actor salary costs for each episode, not including production staff costs, distribution, etc.
.. that had been considering a switch to Rogers, but after reading this story, I will never consider them again. I imagine there are probably 10 other people just like me, that will decide not to buy from Rogers in the future. If you take even ten 2 year contracts billed at $50/month, you are already at $12,000 in revenue.
The bad publicity that Rogers is getting from this, will surely be much more expensive than if they were to simply write off the bill. And trying to settle for $2000? If they are willing to let go of $10,000 why not let it go of the last $2000, and save themselves a few customers.
A better question is.. when Europe and Asia convert to IPv6 and only accept IPv6 connections, how quickly would the rest of the Internet get changed? Make no mistake about it, the Europeans and China are both moving towards IPv6 much faster than the U.S.
It's called Event Driven Programming. It's not something specific to Microsoft, and they sure didn't invent it. If you program a GUI application in Java, you would use the same general approach.
That's why they invented corporate income tax. No matter how hard you try, if you are making money at something, sooner or later the government will get its piece of the pie.
BCE (parent company of Bell Canada) also owns Aliant , which is the Telco for the East Coast of Canada. Rogers Wireless has complete service across the country.
Big global companies, don't mandate things like across the board. It's left up to the individual business units, and the divisions within them to decide what makes the most sense for the particular line of business.
There's a short video on the change.gov website where Vivek makes an appearance:

7900 miles over his head!
They've been around here in Canada for at least a year or more. Could have been someone from BC down to Seattle for the day.

That only works in an Oracle environment. If it's SQL server or MySQL, each sql statement is typically committed by default.
Isn't this the same story as from a week or two ago?
And believe it or not, there are major banks out there that still run mission critical software written in assembly.
Market share in this sense is usually defined by share of overall sales.
More than you may think... My fiance just joined a clan on Halo 2. It is all girls/women, and there are 76 clan members.
OK. 6 pc/servers and 2 printers I can see.. but 4 laptops? What do you use them all for ?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but MS invented the whole idea of the XMLHTTPRequest object. They already crossed this finish line 7 years ago.

Luke lost an arm in Episode V.

Then there is something wrong with your particular installation/environment. I have run VS .NET for days, and not had to restart the IDE app.

MPI is not middleware in the same sense that TIBCO is. It is for much lower-level systems/hardware interfacing stuff.
