Imagine the coded messages going between the Corps in EvE Online where messages about raiding corps. Doubt is any WoW chat would trigger false positives but one never knows. That is why we are supposed to be able to legally make backup copies of what we buy. A right DRM is taking away from us forcing us to repurchase what we already bought. Kind of odd, with software you buy it is a license to use not an actual purchase, which means if you lose the CD's with the DRM on it and you cannot play the game anymore is the game manufacturer required to supply you with another? You purchased a license to use the software but they made it so you cannot use it without the CD. With the DRM on these new disks, they can also limit your view time back to the days of the original Dvix. They go one more step further than Divx, they can not only expire your movie, they can expire your player!

Bush's educational agenda seems clear, kill anything that conflicts with his world view. Science seems to conflict with his idea of ID so it has to go. His idea about supporting Education seems to be more tax cuts to rich corporations for R&D. Never mind that the corps have to move their R&D overseas because there will no longer be any new scientists trainned in the US due to Mr Bush's policies. Critcal thought is not a consideration in his administration, as anyone that has conflicting opinions is kicked out of his administration. Hence schools will follow the same guidelines, not critical thought no scientific analysis and he wonders why we have lost the technical edge to Japan and Korea.

It prevented the virus checkers from spotting malware on PC's with the SONY DRM on it. Think about the combination of the WMF exploit and the SONY Rootkit. You go to a site it downloads malware onto your system. You think you are secure because you have virus scanners and you scan daily, but the SONY rootkit prevents your scanners from picking up the worm on your machine. That is a reduction in security.

Note: Sites can be hacked and trojan downloads installed unbeknownst to the websites. So you could potentially be going to gospel/business website and end up with undetectable malware on your machine. My sister went to a site to buy some glass cylinders for her lab and ended up with a virus.
