In this case, a circumstance that is not being taken into effect is Monsato has been a very evil company. They sold terminator seeds to a farmer in india who infected all surrounding fields which were burned to the ground. India was seeking retrobution and banned them from doing any testing or experiemnts or sales within their country. Monsato has been on the international bad peoples list for a while due to these outrageous practices and what they have been attempting to do. This type of product can mutate and do a lot more devestation than to just one crop. When people start playing god with our chlorophil friends they could inadvertantly start a plant holocost like no other, just like the CDC with biological viruses. Why must we learn through accidents..
My best friend has been working on his own 3D engine for rendering as well as gaming opportunities, and you are not going to find the tips he's aquired through gaming magazines. What you need to do is look through Siggraph archive papers, find books, listserves, forums, on complex mathmatics, different spline architectures, display methods, and a host of other detailed goodies. If you want to be in this field you're going to get your brain fried more than once, but it's worth it. If you don't want to do that, then contact game engine owners for student deals, because building something that's going to do truly neat things is not a year project, but a long road that will teach you a great many things.
What I want to know is what type of therapies have you sought out. Surgery is always a last resort in my book. Doctors know so little, and to have them hacking around in a very tightly orchestrated compartment as the hand gives me shivers. I thought I had CTS a few years ago. Would wake up in the middle of the night clutching my wrist/forearm and the pain was almost imbearable. I started wearing a brace almost all the time, started taking Naproxyn Sodium (wonderful anti-inflamatory in Aleave(sp?)) and this really started to help a lot. The second thing I began doing were exercises that would strengthen those tendons, correcting my slouching non-planar use of the keyboard/mouse. Now adays if I've been at work too long, and feel some swelling, I walk away. Know when is enough. Exercise and anti-inflams, along with a temporary brace should patch you up. Never go to the blade unless you've tried many a holistic or medication's. Also, don't let them shoot cortozone in it, makes your tendons thiner and doesn't help the problem.
I know that my reams of printing is due to the fact that I sit at a computer many to many hours and that I like to get in my recliner and read technical stuff. I do have many binders full of useful information. Why not keep it pure digital.. I tire of a monitor. I look for comfort and quiet to do my reading. Paper people need to switch to hemp, bastards need to stop using such a limited resource.. That or get more genetic wacky on them.
Seeing as they diluted they have allowed just about everyone and their mother to make games, which means we will have more crap to sift through, its almost like that! Just change 15 to 35 and fun loving to profit grubbing.
What I really want to know is why none of these dammed machines come equipped for a lan! I have a cable modem, what the f*ck do I want with a slow poke modem to take up my line! Use USB or some sort of PCMCIA derrivitve, just don't lock me in an old school thought, I don't live there anymore.
I would like to see moderation stay in place, I have enough spam to filter through. However, the idea behind 'insightful','informative', etc.. should be expanded upon and sorted upon. That way technical posts could be seen exculusivly (for the most part) and if you want some humor, it'd be easy to get to. If your good, decisive, and smart.. more generally is better.
We know that our privacy is at risk every day. We truly have no privacy to those wealthy enough to have the toys which can be used. And when toys come down to the masses, there are longer and bigger chains that require even bigger toys which again only the at-large can buy. Keys will get longer, computers will get faster, the breaking will not end. A change in perspective perhaps.. I don't see why so many get so worked up. Every Ah-Ha leads to a stack more of digits.
The government and the people, or at least netziens seem to be in opposition.. what happened to the government serving the peoples needs.. Can we make make the US internet a state, and then elect our own guy to defend us? Every day I see the likes of my own Helms, and that ass Hyde, and think.. I'm not being represented! Are you being represented?
I think the idea of a 3d system will eventually become the norm. Why, because 3d can be 2d if you want it to be. I think it would be nice to work on a system that looks 2d, and then traverse engage in a network and see my 2d/3d desktop open up and move me there, or to be able to see file structures or data streams.
Patterns exist everywhere; there is an order within Chaos.
I work very well spatially. Manipulating both imaginary and things I have seen within a 3d space within my nogin, its all about gaining a perspective, one shift and you might see something you didn't before.
A parallel would be, we are living on one side of a rubix cube, whats going to happen when we realize there is more than just this one level.
If no one creates it.. in time.. I will. Keep'n it real, -Malachi-
I think of capping as a thing that must be done and spoken about a head of time. To not do so is misleading, I don't run a site, but I do transfer a lot of meggage back and forth to work and right now, I don't think we have a cap in our area, but damn'd if i don't get 20kps which connecting to our T1 at work seems small. They as a provider should also realize that the model is forever changing and that the rules of today are be prepaired for the unexpected, and expand and grow as necessary. A cap is not a solution, but a temporary gate. Also, I do expect to be catered to persay, as technology gets better and we get smarter, I expect more for less. Every year something is on the market, it costs less and less to manufacture or maintain. Its not my fault that they didn't build the system right the first time. All I do wish is that there was more compeitition to give the consumer more equal options.
Once E-Trust is lost, your screwed. They had better remember that.
Anything that points the finger at someone is a rating. We talk to much and believe what we want to believe to frequently. People need to take responsibility for themselves and those who are dependents to them.
I don't quite believe in comparing countries vs countries because inheriently they are all messed up. One must look at the structure each is built upon and examine weather or not the ideas/philosophies holding the structures up are the correct ones. We've come a long way in the last millenia, I'd like to see things iterate like good software. The first time is never the right way, but why be like microsoft and keep adding to it? You need to take the good things, and figure out how to make them better, while chopping all the crap that isn't right out.
I used to agree with you that it would take a horrible revolution before we could set things right. Too many stupid people in place, right? Well.. Over the past 3 or so years I've been watching the political clime in my area. I started following the Libertarian's points of views and the polls were horrendous, the first year there were only a smattering of 50-150 votes per candidate within our local primarys. Now though we are in the thousands. This year I think Libertarians will actually get some recognition in the Presidential. No, I don't think we will win, but I do think more people will become attracted.. a lot like open source. One thing you also might not be thinking of is how stupid people really are. Those people who grumble about paying uncle sam, don't go and vote. How ludicrus is that? If the people who voted was pitted against the people who didn't vote, there would be more non voters.. People need to speak up. People live like this because they're not paying attention to the power they really have.
I suppose all the 60 minutes or Datelines that have been on taxation application issues were all bunk made at a media attempt to disuade people and government. The government is notorius for handling funds like a sive. Can we remember how much the toilet seats and staplers were that were talked about? Or how about th 50c per page copies they were doing. And don't tell me to look to europe, thats crap too, you need to look to notions which are being avoided because the change is too great for commoners to handle, or the well informed become self dilluded. -Malachi-
I'm not going to waste much time on this post but I give you something to think on.. We are taxed too damn much in this country as it is. Gas, Food, Home, Auto, Income, Tariffs, and the list goes on. You think we are going to break a state because we are doing E-commerce? Bah. You need to read up on what Libertarians believe, the governments hosing you every day and you're making up excuses so they can. -Malachi-
I just looked down at one of those little books, "Lifes little instruction book" and the page I flipped to was,
"Never criticize the person who signs your paycheck. If you are unhappy with your job resign."
While I might have some constructive issues that could help a company. If I were to leave say my current job, which like everything in the world, has its own disfucntionalities, it is absolutly disrespectful for me to make myself go public. I almost want to say that one is liable for expressing too openly their opinions of a said company.
Like I said in a previous reply, if you have a problem, and have tried explaining it or fighting for your view, then leave and find a home where you can be happy, but dammit, shuttup already. I care more about the UN settlement than this garbage.
I must agree with this. Rasterman fell into a category that I don't even puruse at all. While I go and read his side of the story I hear.. whining it must be. He never said anything? He never spoke up? He never addressed the issue? Geeze.. if you have a problem the only way to get everything perfect is to communicate. I won't even go into assumptions here, but I have a myriad, don't you? Anyhow, theres more important things going on in this community than showing the intolerance of a manager and the wuss nature of an employee.
As for NC, it may not be the most exciting place, but it is beautiful with many facets one can choose to explore. Your life and experiences are shaped by your choices. You reap what you sow.
People forget that everything they view is just one perspective of a multitude. This guy who is having all the "headaches" because of hackers. The hackers are finding loopholes you shouldn't have, plug them! He also acts like this has hampered there research, but with the repition of the same day over and over, its been a great hard core beta phase IMO. They've learned, now they are patching.
However, I think they should smile more often, nothing is irrepairable. The only thing lost in things like this are tolerance, which i didn't know had a limit or capacity to begin with...
Lastly I still don't see why they don't OSS their project, something like this should be open, all of science should be open! I'm tired of privacy of informative information. I'll eventually find out what your hiding, but in the end you've made me waste hours of searching and digging to find the abstracted hints!
Many many moons ago IBM was a dominator in its class. Then as computers truly became a force for the desktop market, upper managment and lower managment began not to see eye to eye. IBM had so many managment layers that how could anyone hope to get anything done correctly. Too many layers and too much stale upper crust made quite a burning spectacle.
I am happy to see that big blue is coming back, and doing it in style too. If you ever pick up a discover magazine you'll generally note what the ibm labs are working on, and if you stack all the things they've been creating together, you start to see an interesting future where they will deff. play a large role.
One word.. VMware.. I used to be a needing windows person, I'm a graphic designer.. There are a lot of applications which are mature under windows adobe line, but I switched to Linux. I don't understand it all, I have some great co-workers/friends who continually feed me corrective information, but it runs, runs well. VMware allows me to cross-over whenever I need for my Outlook (even though I'm slowly extracting myself from it.), Pagemaker, and Frame because we don't own a linux license.
If I could summ up my feelings, windows is skeezy, Linux is a tight non-failing machine.
There are issues, and things have a tendency to bomb, but those are UE:) and I just need to keep RTFM. 8) For all those aspiring graphic designers, give Linux some time but use it somewhere.. Gimp, Sketch, Killustrator, soon to be Corel Draw.. We need to shake Adobe's damn tree..I want some signature applications.

Notes may suck, but I don't know of any alternatives for the things it can do.
