The P.I. has got to be cheaper than a bunch of lawyers.

  9. Exercise reduces food intake. What? on Fructose As Culprit In the Obesity Epidemic · · Score: 2, Interesting

From the article: The second reason that exercise is important is because it's the single best treatment to get your cortisol down. Cortisol is your stress hormone, it's the hormone that goes up when you are mega-stressed, it's the hormone that basically causes visceral fat deposition which is the bad fat and it has been tied to the metabolic syndrome. So by getting your cortisol down you're actually reducing the amount of fat deposited and it also reduces food intake. People think that somehow exercise increases food intake, it does not, it reduces food intake.

What is this guy talking about? Ever since I started regularly exercising I am more hungry, more often. And actually hungry, not the confusion of eating out of boredom when I wasn't in shape. Just look at marathon runners, they need to eat tons of food to give them the energy they need. What this guy is saying seems so counterintuitive. Can anyone explain what he means or he is just crackers?

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't heat become a bigger issue when the circuit is smaller and therefore the transistors are more dense? Sure, the process might be operating at a lower voltage, but the density outweighs that. Note that with CPUs the heat issue has become more and more difficult with reduced process size. Now maybe because the Xbox chip won't be increasing its functionality and will therefore have a similar number of now smaller transistors the heat issue could be reduced. But when you move to a smaller process, that doesn't mean you can now spread smaller transistors out over the same area. One generally needs to keep interconnecting lines short to prevent parasitic resistance and capacitance problems.

I guess I can't say whether the heat issue would get better or worse because I'm not sure which factor would wind up dominating.
