Not to my 12 yr old self, but to my 17 yr old self I'd say: "you know that slutty girl who is trying to get on you but who you keep turning down because you think she might have something...well, she does in the future, but not now, so get it while the gettin's good!
In all honesty, that's what I'd say. Rather shallow, I know.
How do you read/detect infinitesimal magnetic fields, anyway? I assume they just mean "really small," but I don't know what "really small" is in relation to data storage technology. I mean, to me, 1 Gauss is small.
Well, I hope the atmosphere (what little there is) is still CO2, then. I hope they weren't wrong about that. That seems unlikely, though. I worry only because just five minutes ago I left a seminar about mars exploration and how probes with nuclear reactor generators would dissapate heat faster in CO2 than in most other gaseous surroundings.
Yes! I started an argument! I didn't even mean to.
But anyway, I don't like Ashcroft thinking he needs to protect our freedoms by finding loopholes in our Constitution...but I know France and Russia are protecting their oil interests by trying to keep Sadam's regime intact...of course, that's the propaganda I see in the American media...as opposed to the propaganda in the equally bullshit European news sources.
I don't know...but that French UN guy (how's that for uninformed?) has a dashing (hair)do. That's not a gay statement by any means...I just think it's funny and so typically French.
It is always a hard thing to commmit to non-anonymous jokes about other nations when you're from the US...it's all fun and games until loyal subjects of the Evil Empire push their Imperialistic humor on the rest of the world.
Which brings up an interesting question. Do you think that a certain amount of disobedience and rebelliousness by the "betas" against the will of the "alphas" is built into our social structures as human animals? Furthermore, is a certain amount of these things crucial to the functioning of our society? Even more, if the government can some day monitor EVERY one of our activities, sucht that we can't get away with anything...will that take a toll on the mass psychology of our society? Will anxiety, depression, and erratic behavior become even more common place?
I'd geekily start lashing out at the popular entertainment culture and how Hollywood panders to the "lowest common denominator" (whatever that means), but years of sitting at a computer have shriveled my heart into a weak little prune. I haven't the energy left.
It occurred to me, but the point is that I hate how everyone takes the moral high ground about criticizing the US as though they are perfect. It's hypocritical. This is the way I hear you: "The US is a bunch of overbearing, hateful people who feel they are in a position to criticize the world. Of course, we ARE in a morally superior position from which we can critize, so we can overbearingly hate them. And that's just fine because we have less money...the burden is on the 'racist, cowboy hooligans' to prove their righteousness, not on us to prove ours!"
But anyway, I did read above that the EU now interprets Double Jeopardy as illegal. Good.
As for Microsoft, they were found guilty, that was appealed (in the defense's favor) but they still were found guilty of some things. What the states "don't accept" is the settlement. Whether they are guilty is not being questioned, but rather how much they should suffer.
I don't care if this gets moderated as trolling (it's not), or if its redundant. It's just an honest reaction. I am pissed that Europeans would dare criticize the US for its laws when they have member states in their Union where the prosecution can APPEAL an acquittal. Oh sure, some of our tech laws favor corporations over individuals, we have a death penalty (that we don't use THAT often), and there about a 1000 other things wrong over here in the US...but this kind of s*&% I'm hearing out of Norway really removes the moral high ground out from under the feet of the European Union in any criticism it has of our legal system. That appealing an acquittal crap is a civil rights flaw at the fundamental level.
Let's say I go to radio shack and buy a blue project box, a few indicator lights, and a couple logic gates, a couple of push switches, and digital audio recording chip.
Then, I build a little device out of the parts consisting of the "black box" with two buttons and two lights. When you press one button, one light comes on. When you press two, two lights come on and there's sound.
Now, since this is technically a digital device, if I throw a price tag on it is it illegal for any one to come by and open it up?
Separate the reality from fiction....I DIDN'T do anything with her because I didn't really travel backward in time. Hard to believe, I know....
Studies show that condoms don't effectively prevent herpes, anyway. But this is all besides the point.
In all honesty, that's what I'd say. Rather shallow, I know.
...and good riddance...no wait!...I mean, you'll be missed....well shit, there goes my karma.

I'm feelin' a definite Randroid vibe from this boy.

It's not the point whether or not they have really have fireworks, it's a joke...ugh, nevermind.

Well, I still think it was funny.... :)
Wow...oh wow...i said WOW.
and before I get -5, Flamebait or troll, just remember...it's a joke!
That's pretty much the way it goes. But I think I differ with Lewis on the *source* of that phenomenon...but I respect him nonetheless.

It isn't on their website ANYWHERE! TROLL! Trying to get the APA slashdotted! Sick boy!

There are trillions of CELLS in your body. Don't even start on the subatomic particles!

But we likes to be silly. It makes us not have heart attacks, and women like us more.

I want a hack that converts the speak and spell to an interstellar communicator that talks to brown, sexless, slimy but cuddly aliens.
Illegal imprisonment? Nay, for they did pass laws allowing indefinite detainment. It is merely unconstitutional
