That was true in the past but with the Unix core in OS X now, you may not get as much performance down the road (but a 4 year old computer never does)but the apps will still run and the developers still get to develop in an open environment so I don't think they'll get screwed, just my opinion.

There are plenty of other reasons to bother but I feel the main one is because we created (with the help of our parents) this mess and just sitting idly by is just plain lazy and stupid. I also have been affected because as a pacifist I am ostrisized even more so that pre 9/11 and am scared sh!tless how many people just sit buy and watch thier freedoms taken away, daily on slashdot if you post anything even slightly anti war or anti bush you are sure to be told you are stupid when in fact I just don't see a purpose in letting the terrorist win and letting Ashcroft take away my freedoms.

I fly every week and I don't mind the extra searches and SFO is actually getting speedy, what I do mind is the fact that I feel it necessary to double think everything I email or post online because I KNOW that it is more scrutinized than before. And people just go along with Ashcroft in his quest for justice by denying US citizen rights they are given by our constitution, and if I am not mistaken terrorist don't like Americans because of thier freedoms, like freedom to follow whatever religion you want with out being targeted for it like a lot of Islamic groups are now being watched for, like the freedom to say what you like about the government without fear of retaliation, if we are not careful the terrorist will win by default if they take away our freedoms. If you want to fight terrorism, excersize your freedom of speech and tell Ashcroft to back off!

As far as it skewing, I think it could because I alone have 5 CPU at home that would only count as one, and at my company we have 40 cpu set up through one NAT, so just needed to add my fuel to the fire.

Well Mac OS X is a version of BSD so I would assume that all thier work to get it to run on a mac will make it a lot easier to port to BSD than from starting from scratch so lets hope so. Now that Mac is BSD based I would think this would lend itself to more titles that get ported over to the mac to be ported to other *nix types, not guaranteed but I hope more likely. I was actually in Fry's this weekend and blown away by how many Mac OS X games there are out there, the problem for the first gen ones were they were mostly carbon ports but as more are more Cocoa ports I think we will see more *nix commercial games, or this could all be wishful thinking.

Another reason why bidding low is bad is experience, even though any guy could come along and learn the DB stuff that I do, I have been doing it for a number of years so I recognize the VALUE of my work so I charge more, a less experienced person would charge less because they haven't been doing it as long so I would get the job. Its not fair, but it is true. Also some corps have to request a certain amount of money each quarter for projects so that division needs to spend all of it that quarter so they can get the same amount next quarter, if they come in short then the pencil pushers will say they didn't need all of thier money last quarter so why should we give it to you this quarter. Hope all that makes sense.
