Yes, I admit it... I program in VB, and I'm coming out of the VB closet (So to speak!). Anyways,
Visual Basic Programmer's Guide to the Win32API
by Dan Appleman is indispensible as it provides a valuable reference to the Windows API available to the VB programmer. It is strictly reference, with no tutorials, etc...
I use this book pretty much at least once a day.
The "glowing metal" is a luminescent film that glows when electricity is applied. This is an option on some of the new Mercedes, it has that film in the doorjam and it glows "MERCEDES" when the door is open.
As soon as someone makes a product that can compete with IE, then MS might have to worry. For now Mozilla does have some strong points, but to the average user used to IE, Mozilla is
Large and bloated... It takes forever to load compared to IE
Pages take longer to load
Has annoying little UI bugs that keep popping up (ex. Typing in a new URL on the address bar occasionally causes the current page to reload, instead of going to the new page; focus doesn't always move to a field when you click on it, etc...)
Doesn't consistantly display pages correctly-I have pages that will display on my copy of Mozilla that my coworker can't get to display on his.
The average user doesn't have the slightest dea what open source means, or care about it at all unless they have been brainwashed into being as anti-Microsoft as a lot of the people on here are.
Mozilla definately has promise, and I love some of the developer tools that come with it, but I don't think the average user will put up with the many little annoyances I've found in it. It still has a LOT of work before I think it will be any sort of a threat to IE.
Thats one of the stupid things I've ever heard in my life. Yeah, punish the software pirates by distributing a virus to the people who are legally buying the software!
Why don't you pull your head out of your butt and think for half a second before you start saying stupid stuff just so you can jump on the anti-MS bandwagon.
Great, now if I want to listen in my cars, I have to replace the car stereos, get a new player at home, I can't listen to my MP3 player at work any more, etc...
This will never fly. Any consumer who thinks about it for half a second will realize that they already own perfectly good CD players, that are high enough in sound quality for 99.9% of the people. What will we get by flocking to this new technology besides having more players to buy???
They sent us a letter demanding to come in and search our computers because a disgruntled ex-employee here had called them and said we had all sorts of pirated software. Anyways, the company I work for has all legal software, and we didn't want to deal with them so our lawyer sent them a nasty letter telling them to get a search warrant. That was over a year ago and we haven't heard back from them since.
Of course you need some virus protection, but the media will do anything to whip people into a frenzy to increase their ratings.
Just remember to be careful and use protection, and you shouldn't get any viruses.
''I find it incredibly ironic that some people will spend an extra $1,000 on their hard drives just so they can store more music, but they won't pay for the music.''
Who in the world spends $1,000 for a hard drive to store music on??? They are so out of touch with consumers.

But will we be able to see Uranus?

Forget the 100GB, I'm more facsinated that the guy's name is Ding-ping.
Maintaining all of them would give you plenty of job security.
