    If you aren't happy with the fonts that come with a distribution you can install your own font system :p

    The default fonts for X in Gentoo are the best I have seen... pango in Gnome2 is also very good :)

    I live in TN and we have had lots of budget problems as of late, but I wonder if they were created intentionally so there was a reason for an income tax :/ Our sales tax is really high though 9.25%... an income tax on top of that would be really bad :(

    I think gentoo comes with it by default... although there is no installer per say, so you just format it whatever you want it...

    Seriously... And why does AOL cost more than any other dialup isp AND they throw ads in your face all the time? You can get Earthlink or something for like $5 less and have no ads (other than the ones on websites which are there regardless of ISP).

    I believe the DMCA also prevents them from releaseing all the source as this would be providing the knowledge to circumvent the copyright protection stuff on the cd's.

    I don't really understand what a bank or hospital would need with a CAD or 3d rendering program? All they need is a front end to their database of clients/patients, which was mostly likely custom made for them in the first place. Thus it would be fairly easy for someone to make ( or port ) a fronted that behaved the exact same way. Then there is no need to buy new hardware (as would be the case for a mac solution) and no need to retrain (except the IT people) as the software would behave the same.

    Laptops have had this as a power saveing feature for a long time, its not that hard to extend it to be temperature controlled as well. I think he is saying that the *desktop* P4 has this ability.
