Just had some more thoughts, even if PCs shipped with this people wouldn't clean the filter ever. I've opened peoples cases and found dust bunnies larger than my fist inside. Also, just FYI, the biggest of the big PC fans are 120mm, 80mm is "standard" and 92mm and 40mm are the only other sizes i've ever seen for sale anywhere. Hmm, guess it is a dumb idea, sorry...
Its not a bad idea, but most people who own dells/compaqs/hps would never buy one and would proably ever need more than stock cooling (i say most, i do have a compaq with a aftermarket video card and a second HD, but i threw in a casefan...). Those of us that build our own PCs know enough (ussually) to properly cool our rig.
The PIII is simply a better chip than the P4, servers still ship with PIIIs in em. Running at the same MHz a PIII will outperform a P4 by quite a bit IIRC.
Not smaller fans, slower fans. A smaller fan runnign the same RPM as a large fan will move less aire with the same amount of noise, a large fan can move the same amount of air at much smaller RPMs than the small fan, and in doing so generate less noise. My case has 1 120mm fan and 1 92mm fan, it probably pushes the same amount of air as my friends setup which has 4 80mm case fans, but with substantially less noise.
That would explain why my net connection went down sudenly this summer and i ended up having to reinstall all the winsock stuff. No idea what happened to it or why it was corrupted, wouldn't be suprised if it was an update that broke it.
Ok, i'm just gonna come out and say it, who here's running that pirated corporate version of XP Pro? I'll be the first to admit it, my computer came with XP home and i was having printer problems, a friend of mine got me a cd and i upgraded to pro fixed the problem, not even sure why though. Never had a problem with any of the usual updates and hotfixes. When SP1 was released i tried to install it but it wouldn't let me, invalid cd key, comtact microsoft piracy hotline blah, blah, 5 minutes on kazzaa and i had a keygen for "m$ xP P40 c0rp-ed" or something like that. Changed my key, installed the service pack no problem. I bet a lot of people have done the same. If your enough of a cluebie to be able to install pirated software (there are a few tricks), your probably the type of person who keeps your system patched. Its mom & pop sixpack who bought their $400 dell with XP home and open every e-mail they get that lead to massive worm outbreaks, aside from the flaws with windows and especially outlook... Hopefully SP2 will help that some, since its focus is on security (enables the firewall, pop up blocking, port closing etc), but unfortunatly those of us savvy enough to install this will be the ones least in need of it. People from todays generation need to get their parents to stop treating computers like toasters, it doesn't "just work"(macs nonwithstanding...:p).
Its microsofts perogotive, theyre not in any way required to support pirated versions of their software, and why should they bother. On the other hand, these worms negativly effect everyone. Although if your smart enough to pirate windows (there are some tricks joe sixpack wouldn't know right away) you should be savy enough to get a keygen of kazza or something. Not that thats how i got XP SP1 or anything...
I liked the book, even tho it got all trippy at the end, but what shooting was there, the battle at the end? Lends itself more towards an adventure game like myst or that really good dinotopia game.
That was only in the original (awful) movie, not even the book. The only thing close was "the weapon" used by the honored matres in chapterhouse, but it was never really explained what it did.
No, this should be good then, III managed to buck the trend, but yeah, I, V, Generations... Shit. Havn't even seen any since First Contact which was/I. good.
Quarry the stones from the same place as the original to really confuse the future. Thats why we're doing this, right? Fucking with future scientists/aliens who may study our dead world sometime in the future?
Figure in the service packs, thats more like this. Although windows service packs (which do add features sometimes) are free. Just playing devils advocate, i love OSX.
I do too, i share some random videos and MP3s of local artists. Just in case i ever get a letter from the RIAA, i leave my wireless AP competly open, no wep, SSID broadcast, everything. My computer is prety well secured from that side, i leave my shared folder open on the network though, but to cover my ass my connection is completly open. I believe the phrase is plausable deniability.
Hmm, pretty big oversight there... Guess that explains the trouble i had when i was playing with one at CompUSA, spent like five minutes looking for the light switch to see what it looked like with the EL off...

Hey, do it legit and you get a spare half hour at work every once and a while. Get up, stretch, get a cup of coffee, enjoy the downtime.

And once the average computer has one, we'll have wonderful huge mesh networks.

RUN AWAY! Run away!... Maybe if they'd given the orcs at helms deep a giant wooden badger...

They're not crackheads, they're Litigious Bastards. :p
They had 'em on hand?

In that case i recommend a hacksaw.
What if thats how it works after beta, you cant sign up, but can only be invited. Could keep abuse down.
Zippy makes shorty keyboards. Check under under any of those for the mini versions of each style.

Check out what i posted here.
Clicking around i managed to find something, check out what i posted here.
Uh, isn't there a button that turns the lights on and off? All of my friends $30 Eluminx knockoffs have one.
